Hey everybody :-)
Lots of comments …..I'm away for the weekend and a little late to the game here.
As for me...I don't fly, so I'm always forced to "buy the seller," study photos and video, and have a shop to do a ppi. Done it probably a dozen times ...including the Ferrari F430 I owned up until this past January. And yeah, that was a stressful deal!!
That being said, I think that even if I did fly, I wouldn't take the time or expense to travel to see a car. If I didn't feel comfortable with the seller, visual documentation, and the ppi, I would pass. Kind of risky, I know...
OK, like I mentioned above, my girlfriend and I are away for the weekend, and she just warned me that if I spend another minute online talking about this car....well, lets just say I'll be in trouble! Hahaha

PPI. Get a good shop involved. I have purchased multiple cars this way from private parties and have NEVER been disappointed. I have also purchased 2, no PPI, sight unseen from PCA guys and both were immaculate. Their previous reputations and sales spoke for themselves.
You don't need to see the car if you have a trusted set of eyes on it. Now, you may personally feel the "need" to see the car, but that is different from the logic of having a trusted 3rd party put eyes on it, vs. the time taken out of your life to do so.
Go for it! This car is calling your name

And you didn't know all that before wasting the seller's time? Not to mention that you have made countless posts about how you're going to fly there etc. Why don't you put yourself in the seller's shoes?! Good luck finding one like this on the West Coast! It's not gonna happen...
It's amazing how much BS you have to hear when trying to sell a car like this! I have just gone through it! I'll open a thread in the regular forum to let everyone know what goes on behind the curtain.
GLWS OP!

Prior to this deal, I offered your buyer who backed out, my GT4 at $20k below MSRP, fully serviced, clean DME, but the excuse was that the red stitching didn't match the PCCBs and there wasn't enough savings to have the calipers painted red by his dealer.
A real buyer saw my car, reserved it for test drive on Sat, wired funds on Monday

Burning Brakes
Great advice, very sensible approach, while I personally fly out and drive each car, there may be other factors at work here as not all buyers are real.

How is this still for sale and why does my wife say our garage needs and open spot before another car comes in!?
Beautiful car and exactly how I'd spec it. I hope it's still for sale when a spot opens at my house!
