As the saying goes, "you never pay too much; you just bought too soon." While past appreciation is not a predictor of future prices, I sold the identical car (only difference was grey interior but it had 2,900 miles) in equal if not better condition to RPM for low $70's in 2012. They sat on the car for a bit and IIRC sold it in the mid $80's. Where the values will be in 2020, who knows.
This is a "I need to learn from my mistakes thread for me"...
I bought an identical arctic silver/black 98 C2S in similar museum quality with ultra low mileage in 2004 for $55k. I sold it a few years later with still low miles for about $65k. Fast forward almost a decade and commanding 3-4x that? Whoa. Not questioning pricing. Just kicking myself for ever selling!
Beautiful example. Everyone goes frenzy over the sport seats, I actually prefer the way the standard seats feel in this car. They are lower to the floorboard, lighter, simpler/subtle and very comfortable.
Good luck with sale. That's a beautiful one and it looks perfect.

Didn't realize 993's had gotten into that price range, even perfect low mileage cars...Turbo's yes but non turbo's as well?
Are 993's still appreciating as we speak? Seems like the collector car market has leveled off the last 6 months or so, is that not applying to air cooled Porsche's, 993's in particular?
GLWS!

I know 993 Turbos are like the holy grail right now but personally, I would take this 993 over its turbo counterpart. I just love the way the 993 S looks and sounds!

OEM Parts
Beautiful C2S, I'm sure you will find a willing buyer at a price that will make everyone very happy. GLWS.
I know the topic of the shifter, brake handle and seat belts already came up and the items in the car are OEM products but judging from the window sticker they did not come with the car as it was originally manufactured. Same goes for the wheels since the C2S came with 17" Cup II wheels.
Am I missing something here with respect to the window sticker matching the factory options?

Many familiar with the 993 era will remember this that Porsche had a Tequipment Brochure featuring lots of cool factory parts for these cars. I think I still have it. This shifter/handbrake are NLA (no longer available) and were ridiculously priced back in the day. I think they were a $1000/piece! It's not painted sliver it's real aluminum/carbon. Anyway, when I bought the car in 2003 I had a feeling that there were several factory items that would be very hard to get/expensive ummmmm, like about 13 years on. So I bought these along with the Sport Seats and the red belts. When I bought the car it had 7k miles on it. I replaced the original shifter/handbrake and black belts with these items. As Mooty says, it's SIMPLE. In any case I have all the original items as new in a box. They'll go with a sale if one happens. I'm totally fine keeping this car. I'm not entertaining any low offers. But enjoy chatting with all the rennlisters. I fully get about the asking price....debate on value etc....It is pretty SIMPLE in the end. This is the one you want or there are others with different options/color combo's/miles/# of owners out there to buy. Like many looking at this, I have a collection too. You can see it below. Happy to just have this piece of art in the workshop if it doesn't work out since I can go on the track with the 993 Cup where it lives and feeds on asphalt Nothing EVER going to be bad about holding onto a wide bodied, last year air cooled made time capsule. Happy, Happy Holidays All!
