Me thinks this is more ala Gulf tribute than Martini Rossi Liveried...
possibly by leaving it on the street he's hoping some poor sucker will steal It!
I do recall seeing a picture in a book of a 993 Turbo S with what I believe was a Martini look. I saw it at a Borders store, so it must be a popular book. Does anyone have that picture? It was a 993 Turbo S in a showroom, behind ropes, white with I believe red and white stripes.
If anyone has that photo, please post it. I actually think these tribute cars are sort of cool. I would never own one, but there are a lot of cars that people on RL say that they love (weird colors, etc) that I would never buy.
I am pretty sure I saw a picture of it. It was in a book that was not a dedicated Porsche book. It was one of those "best cars in the world" sorts of books (a paperback, I think), with only a page or two dedicated to each car. Perhaps I am losing my mind.
Those may actaully be center lock wheels. The BBS wheels at the time had provisions for both 5 lug and center lock mechanisms. The pictures aren't detailed enough to tell.
bingo, they did not have lug nuts.
detailed? hey, it was a mobile phone camera
i'm a bit surprised by the negative comments regarding paint.
I too would not do this to a car, ('specially the gaping front maw), but they do score points for "doing-something-different" in my book.
i'd take it if it was given to me.
LOL

Agreed. The car looks much better in person. I pass by 2-3 times a week and enjoy seeing it. The owner just sold a '97 Arctic Silver (original owner).

This might be the car I was thinking of. Not exactly what I remembered, but close. Does anyone know if this is supposed to be a tribute to some race car of the past? Otherwise, I don't get it.
