Default 997.2 trunk tools' removal

I never used the trunk tools. Recently I opened the tool's panel and found the tire air compressor squeezed in the form fitting composite foam (see photo). Is there a way to extricate the compressor from its stored location without breaking the surrounding foam?

I used my compressor but I don't remember breaking anything.... maybe I did... I was on the side of a highway pissed off.

I will check my trunk tonight to see what I did. I do know it all went back together and there is no moving around.

Peace

I'd say just cut that foam nub off with a razor knife as the case should hold itself into the foam once put back in position against the wall and secured with the twist locks that hold the whole panel. That would be better than trying to angle it out and damaging the compartment shape for the case on the opposite side (2 gren arrows)..

Lousy pic ... you can barely see the nub, but here you go, from a 2009 C2S

Looked at mine. It has the nub and I have had mine out. Just lift by the left side and it should come out numb intact. I do not think it was designed to be broken off.

Thanks Bruce for shooting a photo. I noticed that the nub in your case is not over the compressor (A - in the pic). What is the beige box on the vertical wall (denoted B)?

I don't know..... the Katalog states it is a "Control Unit, Front Luggage Compartment" with no other description.... assuming I am looking at the right unit. The Katalog just points to the hood and there are about four other "Control Units" denoted. It may, maybe... be for the xenon lights... but again, I am not sure.

Peace

Default not so secret compartment

What is the compartment on the top of the trunk unit for? It has two ways in; front and top, and it says "don't put anything in here!" looks like a lot of useful space for small stuff. why not use it?

I believe that's where the Nav drive and CD Changer are located on cars so equipped. I don't have either of those and have been storing a small took kit, flat tire plug kit, spare serpentine belt, a spare quart of oil in double ziploc bags with some paper towels, and other parts in that little cubby for 4 years without any issues.

I suspect if you open the box it will become a reflective triangle to place behind your car to warn traffic of your presence.
