PO's speedometer fix
Since I've owned my 84 928 the speedometer would work most of the time until the temp dropped between 70 and 80 degrees. But lately it's been acting up more and more. So after doing some info search on the Rennlist I came across Dwayne's write up. Dwayne if you read this you do great write ups.
When I got it all disassembled, one of the revits were loose. I soldered it up like Dwayne's write up. I have a couple of burnt out bulbs so I haven't put it back I. To see if it fixed it, but I'm sure I found the issue. At least I hope so.
but here is how a PO or a shop tried to fix the problem.

Hi,
If you conclude there is no fix for your cluster foil, we already have a solution for the 82/84 cars, thanks to Roger Tyson.

I put in a $65 Chinese GPS speedometer. Works great.

Got the bulbs replaced and the pod reinstalled. Took it for a drive and every thing works. The write up from Dewayne really helped.
