Thank you R.
Never had a red GT car so we shall see how Carmine turns out. Choosing a color always comes with a degree of eeeek!

Here's the latest position.

Thanks for posting these updates on the ship's position. I have to wait until she gets all the way to Houston however.

this will be interesting as the Columbia Highway off loaded in Jacksonville this past Sun/Mon is now headed to Houston with no update from Porsche on the cars that were left in Jacksonville.

Huh? Interesting how? Any and all of these ports have the ability to dock multiple ships and off load thousands upon thousands of cars. Just take a look at the sheer amount of parking lot space via Google Earth and you can rest assured they could offload the measly amount of Porsches on each ship, for each docking location, for probably weeks of ship arrivals before space becomes any issue.

Best case scenario for a car to leave the import location to head to the dealer is 24-72 hours and that's only if it requires zero repairs during PDI and is rubber stamped through customs. Then add on logistics of waiting for the right truck, or right train, and it's not uncommon for unloaded cars to be at the port location for a week or two.

Would you have not thought the PS&V Management System would have been updated since all stages of delivery are noted and dated.

Nope, not at all. All of those dates are estimates at best and are completely adjustable/flexible specifically to accommodate the thousands of logistical issues that can and do occur along the way. To the best of my knowledge there's no v code that shows "your **** got smashed in the boat so we're busy rebuilding it for you" but I'm sure technically there is one.

However, just like with any integrated logistics software with thousands upon thousands of users- not everybody is gonna have the same permissions. I'm willing to bet your average peon sales person has barely more than "here are the most basic of basic stages and some dates that more or less may be complete BS" to your dealer principle who has "ok, here are some more v codes with some more detailed info but we're still not going to show you any real info cause frankly, you're still just a customer in the long run". As you move up the food chain I'm also willing to bet those cars are scanned so many times and their locations tracked so precisely that it would make an Amazon drone green with envy. However, there is no logical reason to provide that level of data to any of us, so we're stuck with the most basic of basic v-codes.

The next easily referenced status update will be when it leaves the import port and then disappears via truck or rail for however many days. There is nothing to update until then and if you go back and search previous delivery threads you'll see the wait can be quick, or it can be extended. If it makes you feel better though, someone, somewhere, with way cooler permissions knows exactly where your car is, probably to within feet, and exactly how long it's going to take to get to it's next location, be that 5' or 500 miles.

Well thought response. After 9 months the last few days/weeks get old especially as you track the boat and the port. It is what it is.
