I think we are among the most intense fans, we drive the most intense car they make and on some level pay more to get less it seems, so what other Porsche stuff do collect/hoard, models, memorabilia, posters etc...? whats your favorite piece in your collection?
I collect hardcopy brochures of all Porsche models I like. Have a nice collection in the meantime...! In addition, I have some limited number 1:18 models (for my desk...)
I can't find them now, I was going to post pics of Dr. Porsche birthday gifts, employees would get gifts, I have the silver keychain a coin and I used to have the 1/43 Panamericana car model, I sold the model, because apparently the model maker made a lot more than he as commissioned to make, so who knows if you got one that was actually made for PAG or sold later
I've been collecting some of the old racing posters to hang in my racing simulator room. I go for the cheap reprints (the originals can be $$$) and have them chemically bonded to wooden boards/frames. They look great, unique, don't age and can be wiped clean.
If anyone reading this thread can find me a reprint of this poster I'd very much appreciate it.
A 1/43 for each car I aspire to have. A 1/18 ideally 1/12 for each car owned. Along with that, original period brochures for said car. Do this for the whole fleet.
Only exception being the Cups coz racecars come and go
@cartorce: you mean the model in 2nd shot? it's emeryville community center, my M. Arch. thesis circa 1994 (bass wood and museum board). the yellow green one is grad school project circa 1993, apt in shinjuku, japan.. (museum board with acrylic paint mixed into flour)
@crazy eddie, me too... my insanity amazes myself too...... like today. i decided to fight off my cold by riding 47 miles and climb 4000'... the cough is gone, but i think i have a fever now.... oh well
