How tell an S vs later S4 front suspension?

I know the arm lengths are a different size, but are there any other visual differences that jump out? My PO tweaked a number of things on the car so trying to take an inventory of what bits are actually on her.

That looks like the early upper arm not that the pic helps much - there appears to be a circlip there for removal of the ball joint.
If you look at the bracket that holds the shock absorber to the lower arm it should have two notches in the side of it- if so that is the earlier longer arm.
The early type spindles are also different to those of the S4.
