Showing off my new 18" Techart Formula
I've had my eye on these wheels for a little while after seeing them in photos of other member's cars. (Shoutout Tim Wasmer & Fracture, particularly.) Wheel Dynamics had a set of 18" Formulas refinished in a color called "hypersilver" which is between a typical bright silver and gunmetal, with a polished finish. I think they're pretty similar to OE weight, so I bought them for purely aesthetic reasons - I think they're a great fit with the car.
I caught the sunset on my drive through the Lake Mead Recreational Area. This was the road we were supposed to take on the RennRun this summer. (Well, Hawk and I took it ) It happens to be one of my favorites. This was a great opportunity to show off the new wheels as well as document the transformation of the dark teal metallic paint. In direct sunlight it can look downright olive. In the shade it gets all of its blue back. I'm in love!

my favorite wheel for the 996, admitted 5 spoke junkie
I have 5 sets of wheels for my car (sick huh?) but the Formulas
check a box, give me that Hot Wheels / Matchbox look
Doc, do you notice the extra inch on each axle ?
combine the wider stance with dropping the car a bit and
your C2 will be transformed
Looks Great !!

Thanks for the compliments, guys.
This is the danger of posting pictures of your car on this website. You guys are like the devil on my shoulder... getting the aero II front bumper and ROW suspension are both things I have on my mind. Thanks a lot, enablers!
@Fracture: I'd be lying if I said I notice the wider stance. The 18" Victor Turismo wheels that came off of my car from the PO were damaged, and were causing a vibration at higher speeds. The main thing I'm noticing with the Formulas is the sublime ride in comparison! Thanks for the compliments/inspiration and I agree with you on the 5-spoke hitting a sweet spot on this car.

I like the Formula wheels too. They look great on your car. Esepcially with the green, good combo! Nice to see them on other cars.
They indeed make the stance wider. Both in front and especially in the back. If you drop the car 2/3-3/4 inch it makes the wide stance even look better.
They give a more robust and firm look to the car when compared for example with the slender and super elegant Carrera II five spoke, which fit a bit deeper in the fenders.
Nice combo for 235/40 in front (it will rub a bit on maximal turning when lowering the car as above) and 295/30 in the back. I use them as my track-wheels with Yokohama AD08r.
Weights are comparable with the light Carrera II 5 spoke.

I'm not an aftermarket wheel fan, but I have to say that these look very nice!
We are looking at a new Audi Q5 and I want to get the green one they offer, basically the same color as your car, looks amazing!

Those wheels would look great with the pockets painted a dark grey.

tall order Bill as there is no 'style line' that supports a split coat
the beauty of the Formula is in it's simplicity, it's a bit bold
but look closely
the roll of the spoke mimics the roll of the fender
when this set of tires run out, I'm going to refinish all in GT Silver for a monochromatic theme
or maybe run these
sorry for the derail Doc, but the Gemballa is a stunning wheel too

Thanks everyone for the compliments! Eli, thanks for the rendering, even if it only makes my desire to lower the car eat away at me a lot more... I can totally see the potential.
It's cool to see a few more users emerge that are also running these wheels. Silk - your car looks great! Do you have the 19"? They look slightly larger than mine.
