I am looking for a 993 air pump tire inflator in excellent condition for my 1997 993. If you have nice one that you want to sell, please contact me. I believe it is the same pump that came with my 1993 964.

Got mine on ebay with 996 part number, which is pretty much the same as the one that came in my 2010 Benz. It's much smaller than older bulky version so i can fit it together with jack and belts in the spare tire under the frunk floor.

The pump is of very low quality. A good one can be had at Harbor Freight http://www.harborfreight.com/12v-100...sor-69284.html

I just picked up the version you are looking for. I believe the 964 and prior years air compressors did not contain the safety light-- I think that may have been added for the 993. It had slightly different attachments as well. So just mentioning in case authenticity trumps functionality. The one with the safety light fit fine in my 993's cigarette lighter. The ones I've recently seen on eBay seem to be the pre-993 versions.

With my original air compressor not working that well, I purchased some Slime branded portable compressors a while back. I've used them both on a few occasions and like the performance. I know Amazon and Walmart both carry the brand.

Where is the air pump stored. The box is too big to fit with the spare tire. Mine was just laying in the frunk when I bought my car, but just wondering where it is supposed to fit

Ditto Bill's comments above. The OEM unit looks good, says "Porsche", fits well, costs much more. And...it doesn't work well.
The one below or equivalent works far better, has more features. Get a Porsche emblem and glue over Goodyear! I learned in real time on a cold rainy night.

As someone that uses a tire pump multiple times every weekend, there are two I strongly recommend:
- MasterFlow MF-1040
- Viair 85P
They are in he same $30-40 range and are much faster, quieter and better put together pumps with fairly accurate analog gauges.
And, yes, the Porsche compressot is pretty terrible. I have one. $200 for a molded case with Porsche written on it is very cool and all, but the 21st century has not been kind to that technology.
