No you're not, I prefer the 4 spoke in my 993. That's why I left it alone and installed the 3 spoke in my Boxster. My 993 has a leather airbag 4 spoke and it looks great!

I'm another 4-spoke fan.

Just updating this thread....For the 4 spoke fans with intermittent horn, the part number for the air bag retaining frame is 993 347 088 01. Use a 19mm socket wrench to remove the four bolts and replace the old unit with the new one. Looking at the old unit, twenty years of honking the horn really took its toll on the horn contacts which were all quite raised as noted in the photos below.

Replacement air bag retaining frame to fix loose horn contacts

Note raised horn contacts on old retaining frame.

Durametric can reset this.

Any need to replace these torx screws or can i just reuse the ones that came with my donor wheel?

Great write up! Plan to install my 3 spoke this week.

Installed!!! I have to admit that I always preferred the look for the 4 Spoke in a 993 but the improvement in the overall driving experience is worth it alone! Plus, I think it looks pretty darn cool now that it's installed. Shaved thumbrests give it that period correct look!

I'm looking for an OEM black leather airbag Mike, crest color does not matter. Already have the wheel.

Send me a PM if you have one.

Thanks!

Al

Not unless I take one out off my steering wheel...

No, what I have is a suede wheel with suede bag sitting on my bench here. Right next to a round leather/aluminum shifter. I should probably list them for sale before I'm off to Miami in a few months.
