Default Anyone bought a set like this for their 996

Looking to replace my stock tips with something like this and carefully store away the originals. Anyone have experience with a product like this? Thanks, Ralph

I have thought about trying those to go from the single oval to the double.

Im typically not one for mods as I love to keep my cars bone stock but those quad tips are a very tempting mod that I've considered over past couple of years.
Easy enough to take them off when and if the time comes to return to stock.....no harm done!
I'd be careful with buying these from many of the aftermarket companies out there as potential fitment issues as well as poor finish quality.

These were factory stainless steel quad tips, $1100.00 on the window sticker.

I bought a set of exhaust tips off ebay to replace a damaged OEM quad tip on my 996tt, not the same you are looking at but similar. The ebay tips were exactly the same as the OEM tips, only the manufacturer stamp was different. I've had them over a year and they are holding up just fine. Price on ebay was $214 vs. $595 for the OEM tips.

We are at the beach this week so I don't have the option code handy right now, but yes, I was surprised they were available on non-turbo.
I like the trim on the turbo model picture from kcattorney, I never noticed the black trim as well under the bumper cover, does anybody know if those parts fit a narrow body bumper cover?

I a bit of an originality freak, but I'm tempted to get these also -- especially since the quad exhaust seems to have been an available option originally based upon NYoutftr's post. Of course, these aren't OEM, but it looks like they are very high quality.

One difference I see is that you can see the weld marks on the outside of the exhaust in the seem between the two ovals that doesn't appear to be there in the OEM set I saw listed on eBay.

I just bought this set (seems to be the same seller with slightly different name, but $20 less and the picture seems to have less of a weld seam between pipes) -> http://www.ebay.com/itm/262324838024

Thanks Pete, you've got to let us know how they look and more importantly how well did they install. Ralph

I definitely will let you know and post some photos.

I'll also post "before and after" dyno readings. I've got to tell you that I have some pretty big expectations on HP increases. I ran some numbers last night on the back of an envelope and, if my math is correct, it looks like I'll be doubling the number exhaust outlets!!
