Default Seat differences

I purchased seats for my 91 from 928 international during the Christmas sale. Unfortunately the seat wiring is different on the ones that were sent than in my 91. Is there a way to tell what year the seats are from? I'm now looking for compatible seats for a 91.

What it is the difference? Can you post pics of the two? the car side and the seat connection? I know my 85 had a short adapter harness that converted from 4 to 6 pin if I remember correctly. I'd have to verify the pin count.

It's not year that decides if they work per se. It's the options list.

Do you have memory on 1 or 2 or neither of the seats? Do you have heated seats? Do you have 8 or 12 way?

All of these affect the wiring harness of the seat.

It's a 12 way memory. I've attached the new and old plug. First is from 91 bases that I kept. Second is From the purchased seats which I'm not sure of the age. Would I be terr off using the leather and foam from unknown age seats and place them onto 91 framing?

Upper picture is the standard 14 pin connector for seats.
I think it’s the memory option that influences the number of wires to that connector.
No memory=only 3 wires
With memory= lots of wires.

At least that’s the case in my car, both seats full electric with heating but only driver seat with memory.
Passenger seat = 3 wires
Driver seat= lots of wires

BUT: both seats use the same 14 pin connector!!

Second picture looks more like the connecter of a heating element or seat belt control.

So from these pictures nothing to conclude.

But can you tell about the options of seat original vs. new… …

You can easily adapt the seat. Buy a 14 pin socket and plug (Roger) and make an adapter to plug between car and seat. See previous threads on this.
