Yep, I run 996 fitment OZ 8.5et53 and 11et45.

technically, 993 WB has 10et40 in the stock form in the rear.

Does putting 996 Turbo Twists on a 993 affect the car's handling? Adding one inch to the width of the rear wheel while keeping the same width for the front wheel should cause some increase in understeer, shouldn't it?

This is a great question. I would also like to know the answer to this.

If your turning at the limit of traction, using the stock set up, and then in the same corner at the same speed with larger tires in the back, it will be the same. If you go faster in the corner because you have more traction, you will get relative understeer. i.e.. I don't think you'll notice unless going too fast..

Excellent. Then my suspicions are correct. I recently changed to a set of 11s in the rear and 9 (or 9.5") wide wheels in the front. I went with stock tire sizes for a widebody 993 (I have a C2S) and have noticed that the car wants to understeer during hard turns, especially at high speed (80+ mph) turns, unless I stay on the gas all the way through. (Lifting off the gas pedal mid turn gets pretty scary with all that weight transfer, so I don't do it. Also, I like being alive.)

I think I can correct this undesteer with rear swaybar setting manipulation, or perhaps go wider tires in the front.

Stock tire size on C4S is 225/40/18 and 285/30/18. I have 996 TT hollow-spokes for my DE/track setup, and I use 235/40/18 and 275/35/18 to remove some of the understeer. It's more balanced than stock sizing when driving near the tires' limits on the track. On the street I'm not driving near the tires' limits, so stock sizing suits me fine for that application.
