Smile Rennline Wire Mesh Radiator Protectors?

is this hype? Or do GT3 owners install these? Logically they do make sense.

Hit a bird during my last track day. Much easier to clean the remains off the mesh than the condenser/ rad.

It's a good idea to have some type of mesh to protect the condenser and radiators. I've heard of someone getting a puncture in the center rad. I don't have them but wish I did.

I have them - I think they work as intended.

Very expensive wire mesh, but what you are buying is the contoured framing that fits easily with no fabbing. They look like they belong, and mine collect all manner of trash/rubber on track, easily cleaned out. Nice to have, not mandatory, but why not.

Will try to snap a pic soon.

Cheers

I just wouldn't have the heart to put chicken wire on my 6GT3...I'll have to go with Rennline. Thanks for the feedback.

I suffered bust radiators on my 6TT then installed the Rennline grills. A bit late, but I didn't want a repeat episode. As soon as I got my 6GT2 I put a set on immediately. A few pics for you, including the amount of rubbish that came out of the rads.

I'd say fit was perfect, and easy to install if you can use a screwdriver. Taking the bumpers off is really east. Finnish afterwards looks totally factory.

Installed on the 6TT.

Rubbish from one radiator.

Fitting on 6GT2

Finished job.

I built my own from stainless steel mesh. They are really necessary. It is amazing how much stuff they keep from your radiators.
