I am truly sorry. I am sensitive to the plight of those reading capital characters, and usually type like this to not offend when on a public forum. Everyone that knows me knows that I went to architectural school and have had a technical vocation for a more than a few decades now. This causes me to write by hand in all capitals and type the same. Besides all of that, capitals are easier for me to see because of my years over a drafting table. I forgot my cap lock was on, so sorry about that. By the way, I would think it would be the inference illustrated by the combination of words used that would illustrate the tone, not the typeface..... If I were to continue to type in capitals, would the moderators ban me?
Anyway, does anyone have what I am looking for or are we going to whine over my typeface?

Nobody would ban you.

But you're still yelling at people...generally nobody cares what you do, or that you dont make your font size large enough to read, when the world sees all caps, the world believes you're yelling. And we're not whining.

We're not all cool drafters.

Everything you're looking for is <$40 brand new or so...for the most part. Not sure why you wouldn't buy new..I would.

The grommet's are NLA, but Roger at 928sRus has a third party solution IIRC.

Not knowing where I could obtain these parts, I figured this would be the best place to start. Drafting cost me my distant vision, so its not all that cool. Thanks for the lead.

HA HA, MY VISION IS ALSO FAILING, ...SO, I CAN APPRECIATE THE 'YELLING' AS I WAS ALSO A DRAFTSMAN AND APPRENTICE PATTERN MAKER IN MY YOUNGER DAYS. AS FOR PARTS REQUEST, I DONT HAVE ANY, ANYMORE.

You guys are killin' me.

Waltstar and Otis, you can usually ZOOM using the control key and the scroll wheel on your mouse at the same time.

I too came from an engineering and design background, where lettering is always UPPER CASE so it can be read at different print sizes. With CAD the norm for almost any design work these days, I can set text to display at readable sizes regardless of the sheet size. Text, especially notes, move and fill on their own once the style is defined.

But regardless, big screens and the "zoom" function make it possible for old blind folks like me to carry on. I have five big monitors connected to two computers on my desk now, hoping against hope that someday I'll actually be able to see the Big Picture.

Oh-- Had cataract surgery a year ago, with correction in the lens replacements. No more thick glasses. I highly recommend it.

The surgery itself is pretty cool. They remove the old natural lens of you eye and replace it with a plastic one. Think permanent contact lens.

Anyway, back on topic. I would go with new as well. They are readily available and inexpensive.

Used parts are just as old as the ones you are replacing and it is a gamble if they will last or not.

Dr. Bob, sounds like you are either a secret agent, double agent, or government operative with five monitors on two pc's. Since I started the ALL CAPS trouble, I will endeavor to get us off the topic. Does the sticky thread reference suppliers? I looked at 928rus and 928 international with no luck. I have a shipping crate full of 928 trim, relays, rubber, electric door and wiper motors, and various computers that I havent looked into yet. I might find what I need, but on the off chance that I dont, could one of you guys possibly look the parts up somewhere and give me the link? I mean with 5 monitors and all, it should be a cake walk!

Oh, if there is any more "capital" or "yelling" talk, I might have to take offense at that barely covered breast. Either cover it or bare it, no in between teasing.

Hey Walt !
Hope you are able to find the parts you need. I have noticed that many times the vendor websites don't necessarily "show" all the parts they have for sale. I almost always end up sending an email with my request, and then it turns out they have just what I need. And I need a lot.
Regarding your choice of 'font'....
I LIKE THE CLASSIC WALT "YELLING" FONT ! I THINK IT'S COOL, AND IT ALWAYS SETS YOUR POSTS AND THREADS APART. I RESPECTFULLY ASK THAT YOU KEEP YOUR CAPS LOCK ON !!
IT'S AS IF YOU HAVE INVENTED YOU OWN PERSONALIZED 'ACCENT' HERE !!! BRILLIANT !
IT'S ONE OF THE UNIQUE THINGS THAT MAKES YOU WALTSTAR.
DON'T LET THESE OTHER INTELLIGENT, HANDSOME, TALENTED 928 OWNERS DETER YOU FROM YOUR FIRST DOGGONE AMENDMENT RIGHTS !
FIGHT THE POWER! STAND YOUR GROUND, SIR !

I'd feel offended if any of those words described me personally. Sticks and stones, etc.

I have five monitors and use them. In my spare time I model power plant heat movement, and write code that supports managing all the effects of it in control systems. One monitor is used once in a while to reach out to the civilized world (such as it is here...) for a breath.

On where to get parts:

928 International, 928SRUS and 928 Specialists are the "big three" sponsoring vendors here. 928 International and 928 Specialists maintain pretty complete websites and online ordering system. I use the websites to check availability of some parts, but have to admit that I've never actually ordered anything via those websites. 928SRUS has an ongoing "work in progress" website development effort going on. I always get great results by calling and discussing my needs and project plans. Doing that lets me take advantage of the knowledge and experience these folks have with the cars and their parts. I end up with a much more comprehensive "care package" of parts for a project based on their experience. I'm much less likely to have one of those head-slap moments in the middle of something, where I discover I can't button things up because of some small piece that has suffered and died from age and miles. Hey look, there's that part I need right in the box! That kind of personal service and support makes it relatively practical for me to own the car.
