Default WTB: a scooter by NJMP/Thunderbolt

Need to buy a scooter for NJMP/Thunderbolt. Don't want to buy new.

This has been on the list for a while, but this year my girlfriend has been in constant, worsening hip pain and she can't put surgery off.

She can't walk around the paddock. Its too much.

Would love to find a scooter for her by NJMP/Thunderbolt

Hey Dan,
Really sorry to hear that, especially after two hip replacements and barely being able to walk at the moment! Ironically I just bought a small paddock bike for the same reason, can barely plant my right leg right now. Got this for $399 on Amazon with free delivery and everyone who has seen it and tried it loved it! Just one to consider if you aren't looking for a full scooter. Handlebar folds up and it weighs under 30 pounds. I hung mine from my tire rack LOL

How easy is it to repair the rear tire for flat repair? Looks like the motor is part of the assembly.

Valid question, I think it is actually a PITA from what I read (really the only negative) but I figure I will carry a bicycle plug kit and some of that self sealing spray...

Heck, cost comparative to the rest of the market for $399 you can have a spare LOL

I was a little nervous about her riding around in a light weight, twitchy scooter while carrying her 30 pound pocket book (don't ask) so we settled on a 50CC gas Scooter.. Probably should have thought about how to carry it. Easy on her open trailer, but not sure what to do in my enclosed. Hmmm

Do you already have a winch in the trailer? Anywhere you could put a pulley block and winch it up? https://www.zoro.com/value-brand-pul...RoCrZgQAvD_BwE

I use a roof mounted winch to take the top on and off the Boxster when I am working on it...

There are a ton of 50cc scooters out there. When I bought mine in school, I checked availability of on-line parts supply, not for expense reasons, but because dragging it to where I bought it from would have been a big pain.

I got a Boom VIP 50CC. Saved a bit wiring money instead of CC. They are also wholesaler for parts which is convenient

Boom VIP 50CC

There is a "PYT" version which is about $25 cheaper. But hey, we are VIP's

Hey Paul, I saw your cool e-bike at NJMP. How is the balance on that bike compared to a scooter? It looks a little precarious. Do you think someone with long legs would fit on that thing?

That Boom certainly looks tempting especially at that price. But it's obviously Chinese and I'm wondering if it would last. Thoughts?

take a look at these.
i bought a super turbo. it is super fast. i paid almost a grand three years ago.
it seems to be half price nowadays?
it is fast, it is heavy. we dubbed it the widow maker, it has taken out two adults and two kids.
super T says 27mph..
ive seen friends biff it full speed. it's fast enough and not pretty.
i stopped letting friend n kids play with it.

They are all Chinese. The Boom is very similar to what I had, although mine was a 2-stroke with an automatic valved oil reservoir. They are pretty rugged; mine was wrecked a bunch of times, including by a rennlister in a parking garage in DC. I sort of remember it would go along at like 35 or so at top speed.
