Default Fun Thread: Name your favorite P-car of all time

For those of you with the privilege of owning multiple P-cars so far, the thread is to name the favorite P-car you've ever owned. The one that kept you up at night and made you want to jump in first thing in the morning to get behind the wheel. The one that made you feel as-one with the car, like it was an extension of your body. Perhaps the one you've kept for nostalgia or the one you regret you sold all those years ago. Modern or classic, the more responses the better!

I'll eliminate my "favorite" at the time, which was my first and gave me goosebumps for that reason alone but wasn't objectively the best by a long shot (hint: it started with "box".) You can only have one "first Porsche."

As far as the best I've owned by your definition, certainly not the fastest nor the quickest, but the one that has gotten me out for pointless drives more than any other, and done so with the disadvantage of me being an old, jaded, long-time Porsche owner now, is the GT4. I've been going backwards in speed since owning two Turbos, then a Carrera GTS, and now the GT4. And a used one at that, with the colors chosen by someone else and a few blemishes on it when I got it.

I don't wash this one nearly as often as I did the GTS; I drive it. I have consciously decided several times not to wash it because it was supposed to rain the next day and I didn't want to feel like I needed to park it and take another car because it was newly washed.

The car is not perfect -- if I could wave a wand, meaning it was no trouble and instant -- I'd turn the 3.8 into the 3.8 X51 out of my GTS. I'd shorten the 1-2-3 gears just a little (not as much as most people suggest) and lengthen 6th substantially to get sub-3000rpm cruising at 70 on the interstate.

But that's about it. There's not currently a replacement gear set; you can get an X51 install in the aftermarket for some coin, but it's really not worth the hassle to me. The car's just too good as it came from the store.

Each and every one I've owned - a '77 924, '86 944, '97 911, '14 911S - for at least the first few to several years, or until the pocketbook allowed something newer and faster that caught my eye. Sort of like women!

550 with Type 547 4-cam. Or the 7-speed GTS I just ordered. It's a toss up at this moment.

I've only owned two Porsches but I still have them both.

My favorite by far is my 2014 Boxster S. It is the best sports car in the world. 6MT, NA, PSE, convertible, red.

If I had to include to the potential pick list from all Porsches that I salivated at during my lifetime. That would be a 930.

While my 991.1S is probably the best one I've owned, I'm pretty happy with my 993 4S which was my dream car for many years.

The best P-Cars are ones that I currently drive. If they were not beloved, they would be history.
