Default Help finding correct alternator bolt - PO's mechanic was a moron

The idiot mechanic that the PO of my car used was...well...an idiot. Everything that has been worked on has broken clips, lost hardware, cables not run correctly, etc. I have fixed everything I have found so far (with OEM Porsche hardware) but need help with an alternator bolt.

The idiot used a standard (non-metric) bolt on the lower alternator bolt. I didn't notice until I was reinstalling the alternator, tightening it down and thought to myself "something doesn't feel right". Fortunately I was able to tap the threads back to M10x1.5.

I'd like to install a genuine Porsche bolt (because I am OCD like that), but I cannot find this bolt in the parts catalog. It's the left side alternator bolt, not the one with the pulley thru it, the other one. Let me know if you happen to know the part number.

Thanks!

This is what I could find in the 996 PET Parts Catalog

I think it will be one of those but not sure which one. Depends on the length.
Also, look underneath the listing for Part Number 33. Those are the bolts but do not show in the diagram. http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=902-05

The 10x30 MM bolt is for up to year 01. The 10x35 is for 02 and up. I would suggest going to your local hardware store and picking up 2 of those size bolts to test fit.

Thanks, I think for my 2003 it would be 900 378 101 09. The length of 35mm would make sense measuring the depth of the threads there.

The long bolt (through the pulley) is 900 378 181 09, the correct shorter bolt is 900 378 101 09.

Note that the original bolts had hex heads, but have since been superseded. The replacement bolts will have external Torx heads.

I replaced both bolts on my '03 a couple of months ago during an alternator replacement that I screwed up.
