" Scalp 'Em ! "
Say what?
This is so political incorrect I don't know what to say!
I might send an email to Senator Elizabeth Warren to
alert her to the insult to us 'Native Americans'!
Saludos,
Eduardo
Presently in traditional Arapaho Nation - what 'pale faces'
now call 'Colorado'!
Boosters and long timers sincerely assert that the " NO " part of its name is why the city has been the butt of more than a few comedian punch lines the past 60 yrs despite it being California's 5th most populated city after LA,SD,SJ and SF , in that order .
I think it could be more about the excessive gang presence than the last few letters in the name of the city...
I think it could be more about the excessive gang presence than the last few letters in the name of the city...
I am talking about the past 80yrs since the " Oakies " fled the Dust Bowl on Route 66 , the gut -of -the- US " mother road " and settled along the gut -of -California " mother road " , Highway 99 in the central and southern San Joaquin working as laborers on the cotton fields and Coalinga/Bakersfield oil rigs
...growing up in the 60s , many many here had " hicksville " accents and we bore the brunt of jokes per the East Coast and esp LA media types , esp Johnny Carson , about us driving only pick up trucks with gun racks ( even some of my SoCal native classmates at UCLA in the mid 70s remarked / half-joked that I didn't sound like Valley residents Buck Owens and Merle Haggard )
this " armpit of California / red state " image of the central / southern San Joaquin Valley predates East Fresno Hmong gang violence by many, many decades and is ingrained into the thinking of multigenerational " blue state " coastal Cali families , like my 4th generation SF native wife's huge clan on both sides , some of whom still feel " sorry " for where I grew up ....34 yrs after first meeting me !

Darn. Voodoo is missing. Would've loved to see how it would fit into that palette.
" now back to the orig programming " ... Lines of Blue
( Owner of 4 BLUE cars and 5th one ordered on the way in October to replace the one that is not ... It's a Blue World esp as seen from the surface of the moon 48 yrs ago July 20/21 , 1969 ! )
Mix Club Blau and Pure Blue and you have Voodoo. Or, mix Voodoo and Pure Blue to get Club Blau. Or....
I think it's the same color and Porsche couldn't decide on a name....
the PCA 60 Club Coupe's " Club Blau " paint , a new formulation with extensive input by PCA officials - and chosen to be used for its updated logo , branding , etc., ( i.e., the reason for its color name ) - includes 20% " violet " pigment , which really shows in indoor or late-afternoon light :
the first pic below shows its constantly changing " blue " color best , from front to rear :
