Default GT3 RS discoloration

hey everyone, noticed this on my RS last night. Only on left rear, all other corners look fine. Thoughts? Thanks.

I think a shop painted them to make them look better.
Race shops often do because they rust, but in this case they are aluminum, so not needed.
Mine are worn but original:

between the paint on the hub already eroding and the new 991.2 being so much better, I'm so pissed I ever bought this thing! Jk, love this thing...just find it very odd looking.

Just get the dealer to touch them up. I would probably just do it myself. Weird though.

Rotor hats are not supposed to be painted in the first place. Basically, what you are seeing as "discoloration" is the normal color, and the black paint is something someone has done aftermarket and probably not very well.

Obviously, you're using the car wrong.

I mean, seriously, you actually drive the thing. WTF.

Paint needs to be baked on with very high ambient air flow. Like in threshold braking.

came that way from factory. I am first owner of car. My assumption is that they are painted black at factory to match the black wheels. I actually drive this thing and have over 3k miles on it already with several track days-- delivered new in January 2017, sat during winter months. It's being used, not a garage queen. Perhaps that's why. Just curious bc it looks odd. Thanks.

I agree it doesn't look right but is absolutely normal. Had it on my car as well.

thanks for your input. This is first time I've had car with black wheels, wasn't sure what to expect. I guess my RS will just morph into a Rat Rod with time and how much I abuse it! Thanks.

I'm on the road for biz, but I have black wheels on mine. I'll take a look at it when I'm back tonight and see if mine are also painted like yours. Never looked at them.

Mine with satin black have a grey matte finish on the rotor hat. 6K miles and no signs of chipping so far. They don't look painted to me, but I'm no expert. Mine look similar to Trakcar's.
