Default 997 front fender differences

Hey Guys,

Newbie error, but is there a difference in C2S/C4S/Turbo/GT3 or 997.1 vs 997.2 front fenders/guards?

We test fitted 2 front fenders to my car on the weekend and am trying to work out what car the front left is off of.

(the wrecker sold it to me as a 2010 997 carrera guard) and it lines up perfectly on the door and bonnet, however it is a lot more aggressive in bulge and flare, and the scoop around the headlight doesn't seem to fit well at all!

Ordering the next guard i want to be 100% and want to make sure i know what i am selling so the next buyer doesn't fall into the same problem i have !

much more agressive and wider.

Thinner centre part and large gap to headlight

top of headlight doesn't line up

bottom does not line up with 997.2 C2S sidestep

Could it be from a GT3RS or possibly a Cup Car. Those are the only ones that I think might be different, but I'm not 100% certain.

That headlight opening looks more like a Cayman/Boxter to me. Maybe a 991? Either way it's the wrong one.

All the front 997 fenders are the same except the Cup car. The RS width is the same as well but it has fender flares/extensions.

Nearly all Porsche parts are stamped with a part number. Is there one on the underside somewhere?

The hood flair and wider arch around the wheel says Cayman to me. Looks just like this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BRAND-NEW-ORIGINAL-GENUINE-PORSCHE-987-BOXSTER-CAYMAN-LEFT-DRIVERS-FRONT-FENDER-/371729627438?fits=Model%3ACayman&hash=item568ccff92e:gmUAAOSwgmJXzqWZ& vxp=mtr

Side note, I guess the Cayman guys can do a bolt on 997 front fender bumper conversion, and conversely, we could to.

But yea, do what Semicycler says and google the part number.

Looks like a 987 (Boxster/Cayman) fender, which might also explain why it's so close, yet still significantly off. Dismantler likely just pulled the wrong part.

Look for that part number. That's the only way to be certain. Otherwise, nearly all 997 front fenders should be perfectly the same.
