I think the new wheel generation started with the Otto Fuchs Turbo 11 wheel for the 997.2.
From then on the two tone chrome and colored wheel became the standard look 991.1
Those are really nice. I don't think plebeian base 911's can be ordered with centre lock wheels though. It would be interesting to know if Porsche would do it as a custom extra... such as through Tequipment.
Now we are all scratching our heads thinking... maybe we can do that!
Thank you for posting. Now I won't sleep tonight!
On a side note, I am anxious to see Nick Murray's car when it gets delivered. He ordered the Carrera Sport Wheels with dark blue exterior paint. Still trying to see these wheels on a dark blue Targa. Soon, I hope.
The white does look sharp! That is stunning.
I did choose these wheels for my Targa. I went with GT Silver and having the factory put a platinum Porsche logo/stripe on the rocker panels. It will be very faint, almost ghost like against the paint, but hoping to pick up the contrast of the wheels. Delivery is promised for July.
Here's how a wheel can make all the difference in style.
Spent the winter with these 19" Porsche wheel/tire ContiWinterContact.
Before and after venturing out after a 4"-6" new snow.
Really would have liked the Sport Classic but ordered the 19" for the narrower wheels in the snow.-Richard
