Default Got a 997 with Sport Seats in SF?

Hey guys,

I need to measure the 997 sport seats. If you have one in San Francisco, can I have 5 minutes with your car?

As you can see from this thread... https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...need-info.html ... I already bought and installed 996 sport seats. They just sit an inch or two too high.

I want to measure the 997 sport seats - bottom of rail to seat cushion surface. I'll compare that to my 996 SS's. Then I'll know if the 997 SS's sit lower BEFORE I PURCHASE.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers~

I use this as a desk chair. You looking for the manual GT3 version like this or the full power version. I can crank the manual handle all the way down and take some dimensions for you if you'd like.

Thanks, Petza. The pic is just a bit dark and I can't tell, but looks like the factory sliding rails are not present.

I need the dimension from the seat surface (in lowest position) where it meets the backrest, to the bottom of the factory rails (where it sits on the chassis.) From the photo, seems you don't have those rails.

Cool seat! Appreciate the offer. But, still looking for a kind soul.

If anyone with sport seats could provide the measurement, I'd be on my way to a decision.

Thanks~

Sest is complete with the rails, all adjustment handles, and a battery for the recline

Let me know if you don't have luck locally.

Yes, looks complete. Nice set up!

A measurement would be greatly appreciated!

With the manual tilt all the way down and bottomed out, the rear of the seating surface at the rear is 4 1/4" above the bottom of the lowest seat rail and at the front of the seat, the seating surface is 7 1/2" above the bottom of the lowest seat rail. The manual tilt only raises the rear of the seat, but the power recline works as your current recline does for the seat back and just needs a 12v power source to two spade terminals in the yellow control box for functionality (Brown is the Ground).

I also mounted the same seats in my 928 Spyder and have the full power Adaptive versions in my RUF 997. To me, they are the most comfortable and supportive Porsche seats if you don't need track harness holes.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks very much, Pete.

Measuring my 996 SS's, I get 4" from bottom of rail to seat surface. So, your info provides the answer: 997 SS's are basically the same, or even slightly higher than 996 SS's.

I'll have to pursue other alternatives to get more headroom.

Much appreciated!

Regards~

You're welcome and sorry that seat style isn't going to work out for you. Maybe try something from Recaro or Cobra or have someone measure a Carbon Bucket with tilting rear seatback for rear seat access, though these trade for about $8,000 / pair used.
