I've asked about this a couple times, and ordered parts to fix it, but haven't been able to get an answer that matches what I see on my car, however people are talking about ABS loom failures, etc in other threads, so maybe someone has recently taken a fresh look.
On my PS front wheel, there is a bracket that holds the "clamshell" that holds the barrel connector connecting the ABS/pad wear loom to the wires leading to the sensors themselves. That bracket has broken on my car, allowing the clamshell to move about and at some point, the wires got pinched in the suspension and broke off. So, I get a full time pad wear warning, and an ABS warning after I start moving. I have a replacement loom, new clamshell and two or three of what are supposed to be this bracket. Only, that's not what it looks like on my car. The part I have as a replacement is #14 in the PET diagram attached. But I just don't see that anywhere on my front wheel. What IS there looks a lot smaller and less complicated. Maybe I'm misreading the diagram.....but can someone tell me if #14 is present on an '86.5 and if so, is it supposed to be the part that the clamshell mounts on? And if not, what is....#12 maybe? I think I saw a different version of this diagram and there were even more options, i.e. more confusion on my part.
The bracket is spot welded to the inner fender and that plastic assembly(clam shell) is clipped to it, also the ground wire is screwed to it.
Doesn't look like anything you posted in that pdf, I just looked at the two 86.5's in my garage, both have the same tower like structure (two legs and a platform) and are the same as the one on Left side

Roger...that's the part for #14 in the PET diagram? That's what I have several of, I just don't see that part when I look at what is currently installed on my car. I tried to get pictures of it before, but none of them clearly show what I'm talking about. Here's the best one I have:
This is on the driver's side, so it's not the one that is broken. It's from the top though, so you can't see much of it.
OK the one in the picture is the left side correct?
You are looking for the right side (passenger side) correct?
The right side is a lot different to the left side.
The two part numbers listed above are mirror images of each other. I believe that is the case with the pics I took of my car as well. I rotated them so the parts would line up more or less, to make it obvious what was broken.
The pic of the new part above is the left side, in the post with pics from my car, I show an intact left side and a broken right side. The two pics from my car look the same, just mirrored (and save for the broken part) as do the two new parts I have (I can go dig up the new right side part that I have if that helps).
