What is the true value of the R?
Im sure someones sold theirs for 600-700 Euros but what is the actual up to date value of the R?
I leave it up to you experts but in my mind its not worth a lot more than msrp, perhaps 210k Euro.
Lets here it out!

The .2GT3 has zero to do with the value of an R.

To assess the value of the R we'd want to know recent sales data (obviously) and also take a look at other recent numbered collector 911s like the Club Coupe, Rennsport Edition, 50th Anniversary, whatever other hotwheels crap Porsche marketing has ginned up.

Not sure if I know the true value of anything these days. We are likely talking about market value, which we should find out in a few years when everything settles.

True value is only relative to what one is willing to pay. MSRP would be the same factor as it's the suggested price until the market deems otherwise. Power is always on the side on the consumer as (we) dictate which side of MSRP will drive a sale, and the market has spoken on the (R).

I was thinking the same thing. It is a piece of rock after all, but can be worth more than the GT3 and R combined.

Lots of nice philosophy here but right now the reality is asking prices are not below 450k. If someone would sell me a 911r today for MSRP I would buy it. Quickly. But not going to happen. Will values trickle down to 210K? Your guess is a good as mine. My instinct says yes but not for a couple years. This only because these cars reflect the overall economy and I suspect the economy will tank within the next two years. But that's a big conversation for another thread.

It depends who you ask? An R owner or one who's not interested. Let's just say there will be a wide spread between these two figures.

I'd be tempted at $100k over MSRP for one with delivery miles, but I'm seeing asking prices for $500k at Cars.com. After the .2 GT3 launch, could see $300k - $350k? Who knows, really.

Here's another way to ask the question. "Today, knowing what you know about the new engine in the gt3.2, would you want an R or the manual GT3.2 at the same price, whatever that price may be?"

That will give you a more accurate answer to your query.


PS: the book is called "the mom test".. its all about to how to ask investors and potential customers the real questions you need to value your business or idea, in such a way as to weed out dreamers, gladhanders, and timewasters..... AHEM!
