The Turbo out back rouses the 3.3-liter flat six into making 376 horsepower that then takes a trip through the drool-worthy G50 five-speed transmission before saying hi to those lovely rear wheels.

This interior is actually not that odd or even a special selection. The 964 Turbo S cars had the same seats and doorcards as the 964 RS which all came with these triple color seats. Most of the black RS cars had this triple rubystone variant (some had triple maritime blue) and also matching seatbelts and doorstraps. I owned a black RS with the same seats as this and another RS I owned that was red had triple grey seats.
The airbag steeringwheel however must be an option since I believe most Turbo S cars came with that beutiful nonairbag 3spoke that the 968 CS had.
I tend to hold the G50 on a strange pedestal since it is the most robust and reliable transmission I have encountered in an older car. If for whatever reason you need to part with the unit you'll get a fair share of your money back on it with the resale values being what they are. I think one of the biggest downsides to it besides the repair costs, is that it's heavier than the 915.
Back to the main topic: I can see how the seats can be a bit forgotten about if someone were enjoying the car on the open road, but then there's that fruity colored steering wheel staring you smack in the face! However, if someone were to gift the car to me I would enjoy the hell out of it on a weekly basis.

Best looking Porsche in my book. Only 81 built!
Good point. It didn't come to mind about the airbag steering wheel. I guess it could have been ordered this way or was it?
I wish they brought these to the US. My turbo puts down more power to the wheels but you can feel its weight. The TSL was a great car and recently one fetched $1.54mm.
Some of the Leichtbau cars were optioned with the airbag wheel. This one is in the Speed Yellow car that sold at RM auction in September 2016 for ~$1.3MM USD. Same multi-tone wheel with embossed Porsche crest.
