The Green 997 Thread

I like the Porsche Racing Green as well, see my avatar. Although the Forest Green Metallic is gorgeous too a bit more subtle IMO.
For the 997.2 C2S, PRG with the sand beige interior was one of the launch color combinations. Mine is one of those.

Seems there are not a lot of green 911's .. which is one of the reasons I wanted one. Being half Brit may be part of it as well
It took me a LONG while to find any GREEN in a Targa 4s. So long my wife got a 911 before I did, very crafty move on her part
As a non 911 purist ... I also prefer Targa's over Cabrio's but last summer nearly got a 2007 997.1 C4S ... cocoa leather / forest green .. but the guy wanted too much as he'd had a $4k accident on the rear bumper
Mine is a 997.2 in Malachite Green Metallic on natural brown interior.
Love all the colours shown above !!!
Most people that have seen my car say they prefer it in the orange wrap color and that green is for Jag's and AM's .. not Porsche's .. I STRONGLY DISAGREE

And everything is right with the universe again!....
Happy to report that I will be the new owner of another 911.. I do miss driving 911s irrespective of age/style but recently the boss at home insisted that I need 4 doors and a trunk.
I have been looking for a well taken care of 997 for a while and have been keeping an eye out for a 4 GTS but the appear to be quite a rare find in stick and prices seem to be holding well.
I happened to be at Paul miller and saw this car http://www.paulmillerporsche.com/inv...ab29988s730802
The key feature on this car is, while I am not a big fan of green cars, this malachite green is quite striking especially with the sport classic rims.
The service history on this car is also quite remarkable and so I made the decision to buy it. The only nag is the brakes but then my DD is Panny Turbo S with PCCBs so quite funny when I get out of the 997 and into the panny is the first few stops are "aggressive"

thx for sharing those images, have been thinking about black rims on mine with summer rubber ... but then I'd need to do the chrome thingy around the windows, which is done on yours
I wish Porsche shared production colours .. I wonder how rare malachite metallic green is ?

One of the best looking 997's I've seen was Dark Olive Green over Natural Brown Leather. So dark its almost black, yet with a gold metallic that when light hits it up close, the highlights match the interior, its just beautiful. Too luxurious for some, but for me, just the ticket. Only made for a few years (anybody know which?) and have only ever seen I think three, would be great to see one here….
Ohio Valley Region PCA had a cars and coffee / driving tour today...guess what I spied...an olive green over natural brown. Car was absolutely stunning. It was a 2008 Targa 4S.
Interestingly, the buyer wasn't looking for that color but a number of other options and it just happened to come in that color.
It was a cold overcast day today and the color was almost black...I would imagine that in the sun it would be incredible.
Will see it again on May 6 at (my first) Autocross. Hopefully better weather and I can get better pics

Thanks patriot993. Had it a year. Looked for a while(wasn't particularly looking for that color). Then one day it popped up on Gurus 7 miles from my house. Bought from original owner, who as it turned out was our doctor 22 years ago. The stars were in line
