we have to pay Porsche a fee (basically an insurance premium) and then replace anything that is wonky on the car down to stuff like wiper blades. Also- cars have to be original in regards to bodywork to be CPO'd.
depending on the car it can be expensive: tires, brake pads, trim pieces, etc add up really quick. This car was a good example and needed very little. I do better by selling these CPO cars quickly vs trying to extract max price if that makes sense.

The CPO "fee" on a GT3 is $2,390, which is remarkably inexpensive. It's even less on 718 product. The ability to CPO a GT car is a huge advantage that Porsche dealers have over the used car lots.
The cars do not need to be 100% original to be CPO. They simply cannot have more than 2 body panels repainted or have any major structural damage. If a GT3 got scratched, and a panel needed replaced and/or repainted, it can still be sold as CPO.
Also, only Porsche dealerships are allowed to represent pre-owned Porsches as "Porsche Certified." In other words, if you see an off-brand dealership (BMW, Audi, Mercedes, etc.) trying to sell a "Porsche Certified" car, please be aware that you are being lied to. The Porsche CPO warranty does NOT transfer through off-brand dealerships or used car lots. On the flip side, if you are buying a GT3 through a private-party transaction and it still has some CPO warranty remaining, then the CPO warranty does transfer to the new owner.
The 991.1 GT3 market is undergoing some pretty big changes right now. A year ago, the floor for 991 GT3 prices was $150k-ish. While the high-mileage examples were $149k/$150k, the majority of the 991 GT3's were retailing much higher than that, and that even includes the 2014 models. Now, if you take a look at a nationwide search in Cars.com, you'll easily find a 991 GT3 in the $130k's, and the high-mileage examples are even less. There's been a strong reversal in the past 6-12 months, and I suspect those 991 GT3's will get cheaper and cheaper as the new model begins to roll out.

What things should I know about first generation GT3's and are these prices normal for the cars below?
