Default Anyone with an Unwanted, Scrap Rear Interior Quarter Panel?

Does anyone have a rear interior quarter panel that's about to go into the garbage pile?

I need one tiny bit of it. I'll pay a fair price.

I'm in the middle of a restoration and the paint shop (Gorillas Are Us) removed the rear quarter panels (after they told me that they wouldn't need to, so I didn't) and in the process broke the rivet on one of the brackets and lost the bracket.

What I'm looking for is the 'middle' bracket that fasteners the quarter panel at the rear seat back that also serves as the fastening point for the lower exterior 'knee' panel.

Below are pictures of what it looks like installed and the other is the picture of what it looks like when the body shop mashes but doesn't lose it.

I've got an old scrap '81 panel that I already pilfered a bracket off of. Not sure if it is that same bracket so I will need to look also. Yours if I have it. At least they didnt destroy the mounting location on the quarter panel!

Dave,
I know I have that bracket. Are they left or right justified? Or are they interchangeable?
Let me know if you want me to send it.

It looks like I have drivers and passengers. Neither look brand new but they should work

Pm your address if you want them.

Hey folks,

sorry for the apparent post-and-run; I've got a lot of ***** in the air that require most of my metal attention during the week to keep from dropping.

And, thanks for volunteering

I did a look through of PET, and checked-out the '87 I have on-hand. I'm reasonably sure that any quarter panel from 87+ will have that single bracket I need. I do not know if <'87 has the same bracket. Looks like <'87 has a different part number. And I don't have any pre-S4s lying around the garage right now.

Now, not trying to look any gift horses in the mouth, but I'm thinking I need only the one bracket. Thus, it doesn't make sense to $$$hip the whole panel. Hence why I asked about ready-to-trash panels. I'm totally happy to get just the bracket or the bracket and a bit of the panel around it. I'm not sure what a fair price for it is. How about $25? Or, I'll just keep someone in beverages at SITM or dinner at that Eye-Talian place.

As for the mounting bracket in question...

... the '87+ panels have four. I'm looking for the third from the front (second from the back) that looks exactly like the one shown in the second picture.

Brian, your pictures show two of the three 'simple' mounts, not the 'complicated' one that I need. Do any of yours have that one?

Last, the brackets are probably interchangeable - might need a little help with bending - but, if I had a choice, I'd pick the driver's side.

Last, really, at some point there will be a lot of picture pr0n from this build. It's going to be epic. But, given the OCD nature of all parties involved, it's done when it's done.

I guess these really aren't that great of pictures but these are 87 panels and have all 3 metal brackets on each. The car is long gone and the panels are crap. I can pull the brackets and put them in a box if you want them. You can catch up at SITM.
😁

Now that I read your detailed description of the placement I think those were the first pics. You can have them all.

Hmmm... there are FOUR metal mounting brackets on '90 and '91 panels. And, while I didn't disassemble the '87 that's in the shop, my finger tips tell me that it has the same bracket.

I'm wondering if yours are missing the 'complicated' one?

I'll take a picture if the full panel and post back when I get a chance.

Passenger

Driver side only has the middle two. Front and rear are missing.

Brian, sounds like you've got that bracket on both sides. I'm happy to take'em off your hands.

And yeah - those panels are done

Dave,

Indeed, the scrappy '81 panels I have do not have the complicated brackets you show, and I don't recall my 86.5 having them either (quarter panels are out being recovered).

Glad you found some!
