Thanks! I was actually inspired to look for an Atlas car after seeing yours on the forum here. In all the months of amost-daily looking I think I only ever saw 2 AG coupes (I bought 1) and maybe 1 cab.

And I love that two tone you've got, I can't even begin to imagine how rare that car is.

I was in the same boat! I've been looking since 2014 when I seen the prices creeping down to my price range. I wanted a C4S specifically because of the body shape. I bought it from Texas and was shipped to california....longest 7 days ever...but I am a happy owner..

I got lucky though because I bought it sight unseen and did the PPI when i received the car...luckily everything checked out fine. never gonna do that again! I was just too excited.

Congratulations! That's a great looking car.

Re: your buying experience ... been there, done all that too. I found mine at a Porsche dealership in Ontario. Getting the car paid for, shipped to Texas, etc sight unseen was a most excellent adventure (but I'd do it again .

Congratulations, fun times ahead.

I got lucky, after 7 months of daily looking I found mine locally on Craigslist of all places. CPO and seller was a car nut with 7 other cars (3 Porsches).

Photo shoot from this weekend: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-foru...l#post14118314

Car is even better than I could have imagined. Seems to be in excellent condition, it drives nice, it smells nice, it's just really, really nice.

Still getting used to the 6spd in LA traffic, but have had some chances to take the car through some canyons and really get a feel for the car.

Default Warranty

First Congrats. The Car looks awesome.

Did you purchase a 3rd party warranty? If yes can you share which company, If not would love to hear your thought process.

I recently purchased 2010 997.2 Cab and have 90 day warranty from Autonation. The Window Regulator went a few days ago and they covered the repair. $700.00 I am currently getting quotes and besides Autonation have only Fidelity offering coverage.

thanks

RD

Thank you! Congrats to you too, car sounds nice.

I did not get a warranty... On a whim, I priced one from a 3rd party and it was in the 4-5k range, but I didn't look further into it because I don't think it was from a reputable company (don't even remember the name)...

While I'm still considering it, I figure since the 997.2 doesn't suffer from major issues like IMS failure or bore scoring (very rare) and the fact my car is a non-PDK car, I'm feeling pretty confident that I won't be getting hit with any 20k repair bills.

That being said, I have budgeted around 4-5k for maintenance and repairs of smaller items over the next few years - so it may be worth it in the end. People seem to say good things about Fidelity.

If you decide, Rennlist members recommended contacting Mike
@ mjourdan@mossymotors.com for Fidelity Warranty options. His rate quotes are substantially less.

You knew exactly what you wanted and waited until you found it before you bought. Great plan, great car. Now drive it like you stole it
