Ive got two more bits to do to the car before it has completed its transformation into an rs, the rear bumper and the leather on the seats. The plan is to get these done over this next winter. The bumper is easy, the seats not so! With my car being guards red i need to do my pole positions with triple grey cushions. Ive found a place to recover them but i need to provide something for them to colour match. Paint sample cards are the obvious choice but not having a real rs seat to compare them to i'm struggling. Does anyone have any idea on the closest pantone colours to the seat cushions?
Thanks for the info! Those ebay pics are the best ive seen so far. I didnt realise the light grey was so light, all the pics i had seen must have been fairly worn seats! I have a friend who is an upholsterer, hopefully the names of the coloure will match something in his catalogue otherwise ill have to guess the nearest pantone colour and go from there.

The colours in that eBay advert just don't look right to me. The light grey is too light and the mid and dark grey are too dark. Compare it with some of the pictures on the GT Classics or TJSchmitz websites....

Agreed ^^
I have an addiction for Porsche's Recaro bucket seats. Besides the ones in my Porsche, 500-1,000 photos of others are on my computer.
Yet, when I posted those in April on the 993 Forum's "Recaro OEM hardback bucket sport shells- RS/ Speedster, etc" thread, I thought they looked unlike any I'd seen. My 1st inclination was that at least the upholstery looks like new FSR Sportauto and/or Hahn's replicas. Perhaps they are truly new from Porsche, & this is how Recaro's dead cows look now?
If you've never seen that thread, there are more photos there like the following sampler of commonly standard examples. They may be more beneficial for comparison:

His 1st choice is black with grey centers, as seen in this 964 Speedster, but the seller wants $329,000 for them

I have for a sale a GENUINE set of OEM Recaro seats that originally came in a 964 Speedster or 993RS. They are also the same as the 964RS seats but they do have the trampoline bottoms that were reserved for the Speedster or 993RS, but the shells, upholstery, etc are the same.
These have the tricolor grey inserts and the shells are painted Guards Red. They are complete with brackets and sliders and are bolt in ready for any 964 or 993. They show only the slightest of wear/patina on the lower cushions and almost no wear on the bolsters. There are some very light scratches on the bottom paint on the passenger seat, not visible when the seats are installed. The stickers are not present as they were removed when the shells were painted. They have ~5k miles of use in one of my 964's.
These seats VERY rarely come up for sale and very rarely in such original, pristine condition.
Seat Part # 964.521.501.00 (2) Black Full leather
Center Backrest Part # 964.521.319.00 Color Code: CJL-Dark Grey/Pearl Grey Bottom Cushion Part # 964.521.323.00 Color Code CJX-Light Grey/Dark Grey
The seats also come with the OEM adapters. The seats are slightly narrower than Recaro Pole Positions, so it’s important to get the OEM adapters so they mount to the OEM seat rails (included).
Adapter Part # 964.521.819.01 and 964.521.820.01
I fully recognize to the majority of people a set of Recaro Pole Positions are a MUCH better deal (I have a set myself) BUT if you have a 964RS, Speedster, 993RS, 993 GT2, etc. etc. and need the original seats, this is your opportunity.
$10,000 USD + $300 shipping CONUS. Actual shipping costs for International shipping.
The seats are located in Bellevue, WA. I will ship them via Fed-Ex ground insured for the full value and have them professionally packed.

Just realised the order of the colours on those ebay seats is wrong. They have the highest cushion and the third cushion down as being the same colour instead of the highest and lowest being the same. Im thinking these have been recovered or arent what they appear to be.....

May be why they were re-listed after seller mvb2008mark's 1st attempt, which closed March 16th for $10,600; item #311562782826. Both ads had this same statement, "SEATS ARE BEING RELISTED".
Of the 12 images posted on both, none showed a stamped/embossed Recaro logo.
I've been following this thread and decided to ask the Ebay guy the question about the Recaro logo. He rplied and sent me some additional pictures. I attached 2 showing the Recaro logo embossing on the back of the seats.

That Ebay guy in my opinion is full of BS!! This set has been sold so many times with winning bids of over 10K. But somehow the buyers always back out & here they are again. Buyer Beware.

Notable that May 4's auction 'sold' for $10,500 USD, but was relisted & 'sold' for $6,400 USD, then was relisted again - culminating in this page which implies it may have been yanked by eBay. Even if just self-removed by seller, all seems interesting ... such as the fact the only other thing vendor has apparently advertised for months items which dominantly display a "Heuer" brand logo on them ... that 1 might rightly assume is not authorized by the Heuer company. YMMV.
