This may sound redundant to many, but it's amazing how many people bolt on a blower, performance chips, NOS...whatever.... on an ill-running car then wonder why it runs even worse after the mods are installed. I seriously don't get it.
This isn't a knock at you cpayne, this was beyond your control, but it is an excellent example hopefully others learn from.
After that, installing chips that match the injector size is a good idea too.

Turbo related activities and troubleshooting will now be in this thread https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-928-5spd.html

Sprayed lots of PB last night used the jack no go again. the nut wont grab the threads on the backside of the pin. I'll have to clean the threads up before I can try to manipulate the pin from the backside as Sean suggests. I took a shot of the hole on the bottom of the LCA Looks mighty rusty. Maybe some heat?

Those pins can be a real pain to remove... Sometimes.
I had a rought time removing both on my car. But they went out!
Some heat and a shop press did the job. Only after removing everything from the car...
Good luck.

You created a turbo thread but is there a pure drama thread? I thrive on it. Also, I used to live in Ladysmith and worked in Richmond. Quite a Porsche community has grown since i left!

Great area to own a 928. We have lost some talent in the last couple of years, but a good community none the less.

after trying combinations of pb blast, Hammering, double nut and impact method, the pin wouldn't turn. Tried the wrenches washer and nut as described in this thread https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum...s-are-out.html nada. ended up buggering the threads on the nuts.
Used a sawsall on each side of the strut. cut the pin on the rear facing side of the struts first. as soon as it was cut it slide out no rust lots of lube. the other end however is now soaking in PB in hope to punch it out this afternoon. I now need a pin and two nuts. and I hope the bushes in the LCA are Ok did smell a little rubber from the saws all Blade friction.

I had to remove the LCA. Then the hub.
Then used a shop press and a lot of heat.
Actually, one of my friend did this for me as I don't have a press and torches.
There's no way both pins would have come out without doing this.
I hope it will be easier for you.
Good luck.

Been down and out with the bronchitis the last couple of weeks. Haven't felt much like working on the car after work. Felt pretty good today tried a few more things that failed. Finally decided to remove the hub carrier tonight and I'm going to try and press it out.
As much as I want to get the pin back in and the new strut on, the bushing looked like it could need replacing. If some of you don't mind, take a look at the pic and let me know if I should just replace them now or leave it a lone if they look like they will stand up. They feel sturdy but they don;t look very good.
Also whats the best grease to use on these parts (Got a used one from 928 intl.)

If its not one thing its another AGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGGHGHGHHG! Read somewhere to try mixing acetone and PS fluid as as break free. Dowsed the e brake cable in the hub carrier twice today. thing wont budge. Looking int he WSM and the threads I found one mention of vice grips and working it away from the hub. Here is what I get. Any other tricks out there? SHort of cutting and replacing the entire cable?
