Added 160 miles through some of Napa's best undiscovered roads this am. Was very happy to have PDK today with my bum shoulder. Car is amazing even at 5/10ths. Getting closer to worthless every day.
^ ya, he's pretty banged up. but before then, chris is really fast descending....
R.I.P a little less than 2 years ago, two veteran cyclists were descending into Pemberton near Whistler, BC at high speed and were struck by a drunk driver rounding a bend too wide and into their lane...a 3rd cyclist stopped in time but the carnage was horrific.
I have a brother who has cycled around the world unscathed. I also ride road and mountain bike...there have been many young, talented riders taken out by vehicles on training rides in the last year alone.
Descending fast is thrilling, but risky...
Prior to buying a Porsche 911, I always said there is no need for a sports car - as I'd rather be out riding, and pedaling hard with friends is so much fun!

A little over a week ago, I had a pretty bad accident on my bike. As I sat in my hospital bed, drugged out, I never once thought about what my RS or bikes were worth but rather how fast I could be riding/driving again. The memories I treasure are the things I've experienced and the people I've met while riding or driving; never what I sold them for. I guess it takes some people longer to figure that out. Mooty has
Very well said. As a physician seeing people in life or death situations - no one remembers those things. They only remember the people they met and they just want another chance to meet more people and experience the basics of life.
