Default Yellow Headlight Film - GT Style

Anyone have any experience driving a street car with the yellow GT or Cup car like film on the head lights?

My car is getting a livery so it would fit with the theme.

Any direct experience is appreciated.

Yes- I think ugly as heck but if you like it and it works with your theme then go for it.

To each their own and who cares what I or others think

Keep in mind if you use a film and don't like it, good chance the UV coating on the lenses will delaminate when you remove it.

I feel like Phil may have done that on his car before...

There are some jurisdictions that allow headlights to show white or yellow light, however, Florida isn’t one of them. Although it’s a non-moving violation, it carries a hefty fine. Depending on how tasteful or ricey your ‘livery’ is, the police will use the yellow tint film as an excuse for a traffic stop.

I'd pass, but it's your car.

I like them, very European (French) or LeMans like. But as others mentioned, the concerns are UV protection loss with removal and LEOs pulling you over.

This is the inspiration for my livery.

And this is the adapted design.

I've started a thread detailing the installation...

Lamin-x is the primary yellow film that race teams will use (if they don't already mold the lens in yellow). And Yellow looks awesome! Ignore the naysayers! It does has a strong adhesive, so it doesn't peel up at 200 mph or in car washes. Which means it can potentially pull up the coating if removed. That being said, it has UV inhibitors built into the film. It will last for many many years. If you have to pull it off due to ticketing, you can install some clear Lamin-x and it will protect the lens and potentially clear up any imperfections from the damaged coating.

BTW, I am the owner of both Lamin-x and a 991.2 RS
