Hi All,

I have a block with my machine shop and have given them a binder with all the needed specs to do the rebuild. But I can not find the main bearing journal housing dimensions in the WSM. (dimensions of the housing without the bearing). 89 S4

I know the factory method is to use plasitguage to confirm the bearing to crank clearance, but the shop wants to measure everything first including the housing.

I just finished looking through the tech bulletins and still can not find this info. I seem to remember reading a thread about measuring the housing diameters. My machine shop fellow is super **** with specs, which is a good thing.

The main bearing housing diameter shall be within 75.00 to 75.01mm. Up to 75.02mm can be tolerated.

I have the info now which is great. But I still can't find it in the WSM, does anyone know which section and page # it's on.

Ok I think I finally found it all, plus the tech bulletin for the revised thrust bearing.
