Hey guys thinking of selling my 951 86, wife wants a new car and we have a new baby so makes it hard to spend time on the 951. Trying to figure a fair price on her and I have considered changing it back to stock and sell the performance parts. Mods are listed in sig below. Car has 205k miles and runs very well but exterior and interior are rough and car does need some work such as bulbs, oil leaks, crack windsheild, grounds need cleaning and maybe a few other things. I drive it once a week and it is a blast just don't have time to clean her up more. Color is Jager Rein Orange Ral 2004 and is rough was going to turn this car into a track rat. This car does have the LSD trans in it. Is 5k resonable or is that too high of an expectation? Thanks for your input.
If I was looking to buy a 951 I would pay over 6 grand for your car. I have a high mileage 1987 Turbo so I know the car very well. You did a lot of the big jobs like the clutch already. Just detail it really good. You have a nice car there
Having sold a cosmetically challenged 951 recently I can say that finding a buyer is difficult at just about any price. As the car sits in the pictures I would guess at $3,500 ish. If you spent some time and cleaned it up, fixed the panel issues in the front, and just did some quick fixes for the interior I would guess $4,500 ish.
Maintenance history is great, with a fresh chain service. Obviously the cosmetics and mileage is a problem. I think you could ask $5k, but would get $4k, give or take $250.
fix the panel issues. vacuum it out. post some really good pics and put on ebay. it doesn't look like a bad car at all. Real 951 buyers shouldn't be scared away by the miles. Lots of 951s haven't even made it that far. I bought a 190k mile 951 back in 2014 for a daily driver. I put another 60k miles on it before swapping the motor into an S2 cab.
you can substitute the bolts that hold the fenders to the chassis for the bolts that tie the nose panel to the fender (corner)
this car actually looks like it's got potential..."good bones" and everything is there, just needs a little TLC time.
not a bad buy for $4k...
btw, you know there is now blood in the water that LART will smell shortly.
A 67 mustang is not more practical for the kid, it won't even have shoulder belts up front for you, let alone the ones you need to put a car seat in the back of it.
you could drive it across country, leave it with me for a few days to sort everything out and then drive it back....
i give you very good price my friend special deal just for you
