Drove the car to work today, and it has not been washed in two outings. Dirty runs...

I checked my cap and hose fittings. I notice the washer tank sort of extends down the inside fender.

New theory, is there anything close to the washer tank that heats up and could cause condensation which in turn drips down and collects road dirt? who knows its a mystery.

I've owned porsche's since 1990. Can't remember which car but when I cleaned out the leaves from the well in front of the windshield one time. After removing the leaves I flushed and cleaned out the well with a water hose. To my surprise water was shooting from my fender. That's why I stated earlier in the thread. When using windshield washers. The residue goes into that plumbing and picks up debris along the way. Maybe it's an over flow for when the main lines are clogged in the reservoir.

This is amazing timing. I recently had my car at the dealer and had all 4 wheels removed. To make a long story short I wasn't confident in the work that was done. The last three times I washed my car I had the stripes. Never noticed before. Anyway I placed a call to the dealer yesterday morning to have them pull the wheels and make sure everything was OK. They never called back ( that's another story). Here's mine, drivers front only.

Yup, what you see is windshield washer fluid overflow from reservoir. To avoid: don't fill reservoir to the top. To fix: run windshield washer a few times or syphon some fluid out of the reservoir. Hope you didn't send the car to the dealer just to fix this non-issue.

No can do, amigo. There's a screen blocking the filler hole.

Now I get it. I never noticed this till I had me car serviced. They must have overfilled the reservoir. I feel much better now.

Hmm, Hadn't noticed that. Just went to the garage to check it out. You're right. The screen can be moved but it's not easily removable.

My theory: When we wash the car, small amounts of water and soap are left in the drain paths from the windshield cowling. It works it way out as we drive. This would explain why it shows up if it doesn't rain. Washer fluid use and rain only hasten their appearance.

My 2017 TT had the dirty runs after every spirited drive. Every time.
Fast forward a few years, my new 2019 TTS has never had the dirty runs, not even once.
Obviously Porsche fixed the issue for the 2019’s, which means there is a fix available for all 991.2’s.
Getting the dealership to actually do it as a warranty repair? I’m not sure if they’re going to want to step up, especially when they say it’s “normal”
