MaxJax Question - 911's uneven weight
Anyone install and use a Danmar MaxJax in their garage on their 911? I'm going down that route, and notice in one of the online videos, lifting a 911, that the rear of the car appears to rise slower and less than the front. The 911 is obviously not a 50/50 weight distributed automobile.
Just curious if someone can comment on real life performance. Is this effect noticeable? Slight? Concerning at all?
With a 6000 lb lift rating, I assume it's all OK. Max load per arm is 1500.

I have a MaxJax and use it quite often. When driving into the garage I like to open the door and swing the rear arm under the car at the rear jack point in my attempt to move the rear weight of the car closer to the masts of the lift. Never had a problem.

No problems here, either. Just center the car as best you can. I don't notice any offset lifting. Same with front engine cars. It lifts just fine.
(I was also able to center my loft in the garage to get 2 cars in the third bay sideways. )

Tom....how far apart are your masts? I ask because I think I have mine a little to close together.....its always a bugger to get out the car.

I had to position my masts (105" iirc?) apart, got lucky cause the lift arms barely clear the tires in the all the way in position. I cant use the pucks either, i'm currently using 3/4 oak, works fine under this cars compression (weight) but i will get some literal hockey pucks when i can remember.
Just be sure to position the posts far enough apart. Nothing to worry about concerning the 60/40 weight distribution

I originally installed mine at 110 inches. Very difficult to get out. I'm 5-10, 165, not like I'm tall. I ended up moving one post 20 inches out. 130 was much better. I have had my 911, both sons GTI,s on the lift. I do pull a little forward so they rear arm is extended less than the front arm. No issues whatsoever.
It makes life so much easier. Did gear oil change, removed calipers, rebuilt, painted them, reinstalled, bled brakes etc. I can't imagine doing any of this off of jack stands.

The posts are 108 inches apart at the fronts of the posts (min distance). I put them a little forward in the garage to allow the car to be parked a little behind center so the doors can open a little more before hitting the post. I also put some foam on the posts to keep the door from getting dinged.
