Sorry...I couldn't resist. Kareem: Thanks for posting your findings, and your car is plain gorgeous. Makes me rethink my choice of Guards Red.
We're getting custom socks made to send out with each set of headers, so they all run the same...

Couldn't resist...

Seriously though, It's taking a while but we're getting the pieces of the puzzle together to understand why when tested different ways the GT4 (like it's GT3 and RS cousins) produce different power levels. Sorry it's taking a bit longer than expected, we have some of the puzzle pieces and it's pretty interesting, want all of it before putting it all together and sharing. Been sharing it as we go with customers as we get it understood, lets say this thread is a little hostile to share data that isn't complete...

Alan if this question is directed to me? who ever said port matching heads?
Investment casting is used as it allows for smoother transition/radius. I get the feeling that your are being condescending.

If your not familiar with Burns they have built headers for General Motor Corvette race team. His knowledge on header design is far superior to anyone here. Below he is referring to how important a smooth transition is in proper header design.

Vince from Burns here.

Glad to see you got the headers built and in production. They look great! Love the flanges. They look to give a real smooth transition from the port. This is where the gases flow the quickest and can lose energy if not done properly.

Nick, My point is a mismatched exhaust port to the flange creating a step. It happens.

H'mm,

That's a statement based on you knowing everyone that's on this forum?

You may be surprised who reads these forums and what they do.

Got a bunch of goodies in the pipe for the GT4/Spyder. I'm learning my lesson on discussing projects before we have the leadtimes solid...

For now we're pushing to finish the next batch of Race Headers and Catted side pipes.

Stay tuned and we'll let you guys know as parts are ready!

Hi Nick,

Thanks for that vote of confidence! But yes, that may be some hyperbole.

If I were you, I would go with the cat option, unless you don't like to use it as a spyder or you just have a weird love of burnt gas fumes.

We're finally starting to make some headway, everything is moving. Including side pipes (catted and straight) in conjunction with a configurable volume rear muffler and a few other top side of the engine goodies that we're building in conjunction with a spyder project that's had us busy. We'll be getting some things tested over the next few weeks and will let everyone know in a new thread what, when, how much etc.

Jamie,
Were you guys ever able to report as to the key reasons why Dundon GT4 headers performed weaker by comparison at other shops? OEM tune vs. "stock" Cobb tune, dyno procedure variance, etc?
