As long as you add an appropriate front splitter to balance the new spoiler or wing at the back, I'm all for it. In my view the issue on the stock 997 is front end lift at high speed.

Did you receive just the spoiler and uprights or did it already come fitted to your 911? Looks like a Getty Ducktail with aftermarket uprights and the GT4 spolier. Do you have any side shots to show how it is mounted?
Love that someone did this.

I vote yes. Back in the 70's 80's a turbo spoiler or carrera wing was the option of choice. I have a TT wing enroute as I type.

I confess... I did think he meant some back road in Atlanta. My bad that is pretty funny now that I think about it, lol.

It was a 2-part component. It came with a replacement carbon fiber decklid and the spoiler. Yes, it does look similar to the Ducktail and I could actually unmount the spoiler and just use it as a Ducktail if the mood strikes.

The weight difference was amazing, the weight of the stock lid & hydraulic spoiler compared to the one I have on is a few pounds, the damn hydraulic spoiler motor itself is over a pound or two.

I can take more specific angel pics if you're interested, just PM me.

Looks fantastic, unique one of a kind look. Unfortunately I am not near any shops to look at different pieces to see what would fit together to mock this up. Probably a good thing right now.

Hijack here.... What brand spoiler is that? Is that spoiler available for an 05 Base? I want to switch out my factory style Aero spoiler.

Although I do like the sleek look of the 997 sans wing, I think it looks much better with the RIGHT wing, than without one. I had the 997 turbo setup on the back, until I recently sold it. The car has a little less impact visually, now that I have temporarily gone back to stock.

I ran the 997 turbo lower wing for awhile, without the top. It has a cool look, kind of like a wider ducktail. And OEM fitment cant be beat. Aside from the wiring, fitting it is four bolts (two on each side) and you are done.

Im located in Toronto and have another 997 turbo decklid for sale, if you want to do a quick test fit to see how it looks on your car. This was mine with just the lower

If you feel you need a spoiler to spruce up your 911 affair, then by all means get it. To me having a spoiler on a vehicle other than a Turbo, GT2 or GT3 is being too much of a poser. But on the other hand, we live in a free country.

I don't know if this spoiler will fit your model but here's the link from whom I purchased it. It fit pretty good but my body shop did have to "tweak" it to fit the opening. BTW, it completely replaces the factory extendible spoiler while reusing the electric ventilation fan and all it's mounting hardware.

Micfluff, that looks like a 996 GT3 wing on a 997.1 How did you get it to fit? That is what I am looking for but was told a lot of body work was needed on the decklid to get it to fit.
