How exactly is one a pirate when located near the center of a landmass?
Italy has plenty of coastline.
For those without an edumacashun in the artses, 'Il Pirata' was a fairly famous opera. Basically a lovers triangle with a nautical theme where the bad guy loves a girl, who's betrothed to someone else, and she can't decide on which one, bad guy(Il Pirata) or the good guy(forgot his name/title) to carry on with. I haven't heard it for a long time, so don't quote me on my sketchy history. However, definitely NOT confused with Pirates of Penzance. (NTTAWWT)
Because this is a technical forum, here's the technical stuff:
Newton's cradle, named after Sir Isaac Newton, is a device that demonstrates conservation of momentum and energy using a series of swinging spheres. When one on the end is lifted and released, it strikes the stationary spheres; a force is transmitted through the stationary spheres and pushes the last one upward. The device is also known as Newton's *****.
The principle demonstrated by the device, the law of impacts between bodies, was first demonstrated by the French physicist Abbé Mariotte in the 17th century. Newton acknowledged Mariotte's work, among that of others, in his Principia.
The conservation of momentum (mass × velocity) and kinetic energy (0.5 × mass × velocity^2) can be used to find the resulting velocities for two colliding perfectly elastic objects.
I'm pretty sure that Mark's name is Bob, or Louis, and he lives in Kentucky, but thinks he's in Colorado. Or, he's in Colorado and thinks he's in Kentucky. And he's a landlocked landlubber opera-loving pirate in search of a sea.
