Has anyone ordered a Youth size in a previous run. I just measured my son's chest and sleeve length doing it the way I saw some YouTube videos on. He's 9, small for his age, and both his chest right under his arms and his sleeve length from the center of his next, over the shoulder, to just past his wrist are both 35". According to the size chart, this would put him into a Youth XL, which is a 14-16. I measured him because I wasn't sure whether to get him the 8-10 or 10-12 so my question is for anyone who ordered one previously if you just went by the age size and it was right or if they run really small, or if they maybe take their measurements differently, like from the top of the shoulder to the wrist for sleeve length, but I'm not sure how else you'd measure chest.

So far I have not sold any youth sizes. I can shoot the question to my supplier and maybe they can offer a recommendation. Stay tuned.
Here is the note I received back. As per my supplier please make sure you are using a cloth tape measure.
"Here is the sizing chart. It also shows how to measure. I would make sure he is using a cloth tape measure - otherwise measurements could be skewed ( I am a 5'8" female- and my sleeve length is 30" - do not see how a 9 year old can be 35")"
Here is a description of how to measure for the jacket.
I was using a cloth 60" measuring tape, but it's possible that because the tape is printed on both sides, but in opposite directions, that I mixed up the numbers and what I really measured was 60" - 35" which would be 25" and make a lot more sense. I'll do it again more carefully. Thanks for the info.
