Default BRAND NEW FOR 2017 - Forgeline Carbon Fiber + Forged Wheels

Available in 2017 initially in 2 designs!

The lightweight Carbon+Forged CF201 wheel combines a weight-optimized CNC-machined forged aluminum center with our revolutionary proprietary carbon fiber barrel to deliver the ultimate in technological advancement, exclusive styling, and unparalleled performance. The CF201 takes advantage of it’s carbon fiber barrel with a lightweight racing-inspired five V-spoke forged aluminum center design and aggressive I-beam machining details to yield a wheel with absolutely impressive performance metrics: very low static mass, very low rotational inertia, minimal deflection, and excellent fatigue strength!

The CF201’s super-lightweight carbon fiber barrel utilizes a high-density carbon fiber bundle, high-clarity resin system, and large carbon weave to create an attractive and visually distinctive rim that is 42% lighter than its aluminum equivalent, delivering a significant weight reduction to the wheel's outer perimeter, where it has the greatest reduction in unwanted inertia and yields real-world improvements to acceleration, braking, cornering traction, ride quality, NVH (noise, vibration, & harshness), driver/passenger comfort, and fuel economy.

Forgeline Carbon+Forged carbon fiber barrels are also engineered and tested to deliver industry-leading levels of fatigue strength, impact/damage resistance, and deflection stiffness. Tested by an independent automotive industry laboratory, they have proven to be incredibly strong and robust, exceeding all existing SAE and TUV test specifications and surpassing the AK-LH 08 Radial Impact Test standard.

The CF201 is available in 20 and 21-inch fitments, each uniquely engineered for modern exotic sport and luxury vehicle applications. And like any Forgeline wheel, the CF201’s forged aluminum center is available in the full array of customizable finish options. (Note: The Carbon+Forged carbon fiber barrel preserves the standard high-gloss natural carbon weave finish.)

If you appreciate the world's most advanced wheel technology, want to stand apart from the crowd with unique styling & finish options, and have the means to afford the very finest, then our made-to-order Carbon+Forged CF201 wheel is quite literally created just for you.

We haven't weighed them personally yet since the examples at SEMA were prototypes, but we were told they should be 8 pounds lighter in front oem width and 10 pounds lighter for the rear oem width.

They are not made by Dymag. They are manufactured by Emergent. You can learn more about them here: http://emergentcarbon.com/

Several questions, please:

a. What is the weight per size wheel to the nearest gram?

b. Have these wheels actually passed TUV?

c. By how you have described these wheels above, I assume they are not intended for any type of racing?

d. Are they safe for high level club racing?

e. What temperatures will they withstand?

f. Because of the proximity to the calipers and disks, what has been done to prevent meltdown as has happened in other wheels?

g. What fastens the drum to the center? From what are the fasteners made? How many fasteners?

h. How do these wheels compare in construction, weight, strength, heat resistence and cost to the Carbo-Tech wheels?

i. How do these wheels compare in construction, weight, strength, heat resistence and cost to the Carbon Revolution wheels?

j. Has Forgeline bought Dymag or this Dymag product or the IP for this product?

k. What are the advantages and disadvantages over a one-piece forged magnesium wheel?

Thank you.

One more question please. For each wheel size for which you give the weight, what is the weight of the factory center lock wheel? Thanks.

a. These wheels are still in the beginning stages and we have not yet developed the GT3 or GT3-RS centerlock center. However the 20x9 5-lug version weighs 17 lbs 5 ounces and the 20x12 weighs 18 lbs 8 ounces
b. The wheels have not been submitted to TUV for an actual certification but have been tested by multiple independent testing facilities to standards that surpass TUV and SAE specifications. We have also done thousands of miles of street and track testing as well.
c. As of now, they are not intended for racing as there are no sanctioning bodies that allow carbon-fiber wheels.
d. They are safe for track use, however not legal for Club Racing.
e. All the testing we have done, as well as obtained from other sources, shows a high temperature of the inner barrel of 300 to 325 degrees. These wheels will withstand those kinds of temperatures easily.
f. The resin Emergent uses is different than Carbon-Rev and others and can withstand the temperatures seen in those situations.
g. They fasten by 40- 8mm Titanium fasteners
h. We have some competitors that engineer a quality product, manufacture it properly, and have a solid reputations. We have other competitors that do none of these things. Each company may have a different way they go about it. Forgeline’s purpose is to make a very high quality performance oriented wheel that meets the needs of our customers. That is what we focus on…

j. The rims are made by Emergent, not Dymag. Information on Emergent Carbon can be found at http://emergentcarbon.com
k. Advantages would include the weight reduction at the outer most part of the wheels which has the greatest effect on inertia. Our wheels will also be available in custom offsets, brake clearance configurations, as well as colors and finishes.

Let me know if you have other questions!
