Default Used 964 dashboard to buy - what to check / leather covering

In two days I'll have to go to check and buy a used dashboard.
If I take this picture as reference, what shall I check?

1. Dash quality
Of course that is straight, for the fixings, are the ones I see in this pics (just found it as an example) complete? 5 fixing points

Or do I have to expect these two additional metal parts coming out on the windscreen vents side?

Why some of them they do have those studs and some others have a kind of additional stitching on the base of the instrument cluster?

2. Leather covering
Since later on I'd like to have it covered in black leather, are these stitching looks like standard or shall I ask for something different to the guy who will make the work?

I believe the two metal pieces coming from the vent side of the dash was a way of getting the warped dash to sit straight. There was a bulletin for it from Porsche.

I know this was not done in the earlier cars from factory but not sure about the later models.

As far as the stitching, this was an option as well. So some cars will have it with the leather dash. The vinyl does not have stitching.

Complete your interior how you feel it would suit you best.

Do you have any suggestion on how to find it?

For sure I'll do it in Milan, Italy.
No way that I am paying Swiss labor costs for this job.
I'll likely go here:

Close enough.

Agreed!

I'd be willing to ship mine over to the place in Milan where you're getting yours done.

Let's wait for the result. Then, if it's ok, I can help you with the language.

Ahahahahah
Today I go to pick up the dash I'll use for the leather covering.
Latest next Saturday I'll give it to the guys.
Hopefully within November everything will be done.

I succeeded to do everything yesterday.
The company is in the right middle of nowhere in Pavia countryside... It's a family business but with a lot of ongoing work, for what I have seen.
In two/three weeks they should be able to do it.
I did not go into many details. I told them that I'd like to have the stitching around the instrument cluster and they suggested me another stitching just before the flat area since this will help the leather to stay firm. I told them to do it.
Mine is a convertible and I asked them to remove the "buttons" (see second dash from the bottom in pic a few post earlier) since I'll never fit a tonneau cover (I did not even know it was for that).
I keep you posted.

Picked up today. A couple of quick pics.

Ah the dashboard has two "pins" missing. Later on I'll ask for some suggestion on how to "rebuild" them.

Nice recover... but... Those two 'pins' I think you're referring to are the tabs to mount it in a 964. Those are riveted to the sheetmetal dash frame (underneath the foam). The 964 dash is different than the late 80's dash which looks similar. The 964 dash has 5 mounting points: a M6 stud between clock and vent, two screw holes in L&R corners, and the two tabs. Please share photos of the bottom and the mounting points.

Dear@azander, thanks! I was already thinking where and how to add the missing studs and you solved my problem by suggesting me that the dashboard I have is "complete"
