This is such a cool expedition! I have had a dream ever since I got my first 928 to drive it from the nothern-most accessible place in North America all the way to the southern-most point in South America. It would be an epic journey!

What was your plan for the Darien Gap?

Ferry or boat around to northern or western coast of Colombia - haven't even started planning. Still just dreaming. But with enough time and money it can be done.

They will leave the USA today

The trip will be over with a last small trip, Le Havre to Paris as soon as the car will land in France.

The last part is for today.

The car is in Le Have and will ride to Paris.

Just an amusing note, there is now a beautiful "US CUSTOMS" buffer on the property title of the car

Sorry for the late reply.

If I'm remember well, the problem was in Seattle, where the customs have asked to inspect the container that was supposed to contain a Porsche that was previously in Iran and Russia...

And the car was nearly seized and sold an auction

Anyway, a book will be made about this adventure and you can aleady pre-order it there:
https://fr.ulule.com/autour-du-monde-en-porsche/

I know, the website is in French only.
BUT the book is in French and English!

Other than functional modifications (skid plates, rear seat delete for storage, raised suspension height, Recaro seats), the car is basically stock. We all know how reliable our cars can be when maintained properly, and these guys are now proving it to the enthusiast community. So far they have traveled over 22,000 KM's on some of the worst roads and only needed to replace 2 fuel pumps! Try that in another 27 year old sports car!

They are off to Washington State this morning, if you have a chance to catch up with them somewhere along the journey I would highly recommend it!
The Canadian flag you BC guys signed for Philippe and his son made it into the car's exhibition in Le Mans. Cool!

Just got Philippe's book delivered today. This is a great one to add to the collection. What an awesome adventure they had! Glad I got a chance to meet them and the car when they stopped through Seattle.
