If you have a 997.2 and don't want to reinstall the vertical uprights, there is another securement point on the bottom center of the horizontal grills. They are the holes that the vertical upright snap into, I used these because I could not get to the far outside ends for a tight fit. These are pics of the underside before and after I trimmed, they are hidden form the top view. The 3rd pic is the inner sides.
I'd like to buy a set of side grills for my 2010 C4S Cab .... Should I PM you directly to set up shipping and payment? Thanks, can't wait to add these to my exisitng Zunsport center grill to keep ALL the junk outta my air intakes
I did it myself more than a year ago. Long before this post started. I see no difference in temperatures. Not on the higway, not in city traffic. Have only tracked the car once with no issues.
I rather think the debris and leaves that was collected there before made it much worse to be honest. Also long term since they will clogg the radiators permanently so not even a vaccum cleaner can remove it.
I've read this thread a couple times, priced different products, had the Rennline grills in a shopping cart before, but always convinced myself grills were not a real "need" for me given I live in rural desert and leaves / debris are not a big issue. Tumble weeds are an issue here but are easy to see, remove by hand, and don't really prohibit airflow before I can attend to them.
But today's issue was different all together. Not that side grills would have helped, but I sill had to perform a radiator cleaning and got me thinking about this thread.
I was out for a premeditated, serious, and sporting drive in the hinterlands this AM and this poor Robin tried crossing in front of me. The Robin did not make it. Given the rate of speed I was traveling at the time I knew the impact was substantial. Even so, I was surprised at what I found upon investigation.
The poor bird punctured the plastic backing of the center opening (2009 so no center radiator) and became lodged and stuck "in" the car. I had forgotten about the bird strike and continued on my drive for another ~300 miles of hard charging stopping for gas twice. And he was still there when I got home. Though some of him relocated to the passenger side radiator. Poor little guy.
Two deer gave fright as well when I rounded a bend but was able to slow easily. Not really a close call. The free range cattle all stayed off the road and minded their business.

Any updates for2019? I am having a new center radiator kit installed on my 2009 base Carrera and am looking for a good quality economical alternative to the expensive rennline grills
I definitely did not want to pay $300. But I finally did while I also had an add-on third radiator kit from Suncoast Porsche installed by Midwest Eurosport. I will try to upload pi s from my cell phone.

I bought some black rain gutter guard from Lowe's and am going to remove the bumper, cut the mesh to fit with some tin snips, and screw them on. Total cost $6.
