Default 3" Vband downpipes

Does anyone know if there is clearance for a 3" ID Vband downpipe with a Vband outlet T3 hotside? I looked around at vendors and it seems you can only get a 3" DP with a KKK or T4 inlet flange. Since I don't see 3" Vbands available, I wanted to make sure it wasn't a clearance issue with clamps hitting the balance shafts or something.

What turbo you using? The Garrett is actually not 3" I believe it's about 2.75 and a special size clamp to fit the housing exclusively. It's doubtful that it will clear on a stock pedestal.

I don't know why you have your panties in a bunch.....we will make one. Did you get my text about the kkk v band adapter? Says it's for k27, will it work for my kokeln? If so...dp is only going to cost about $100 to make

How much though...I'm talking like $100 down pipes for each of us.

The hotside in question is a custom CNC machined garrett T3 hotside made to accept a holset HX35. I have not ordered it yet, since it's being built in house I can have it with either the standard 4 bolt 2.5" outlet, or a true 3" Vband welded on. Since Cale, Michael and I have been discussing building downpipes, the Vband appeals to me but I wanted to see if it would clear on a stock turbo mount. My thoughts were that it wouldn't...which implies it wouldn't work for any normal bolt on turbo, be it a KKK, a garrett hybrid, or a holset.

So only guys with Tial GT turbos get 3" Vband DP's?

the other side of asking this type of question is that, if I must use the standard 2.5" 4 bolt outlet on the hotside, why not go with a 2.75" downpipe and make fitment a lot easier vs a "true" 3" DP?

2.75" and 3" T3 flanges are available all day long, and they must also be for the KKK because there are half a dozen companies making 3" or 2.75" downpipes for kkk turbos. An important consideration though is fitment, 3" DP's are REALLY tight and just stepping down to 2.75" makes a huge difference. If our turbine outlets are smaller than that, seems like a small loss in order to gain good fitment. You'll notice that with the exception of the SFR "true" 3" DP, all the 3" dP's on the market neck down to 2.75" right at the turbine outlet.

This is off of Broadfoot's website:

The stock 951 down pipe is 2.5". Our down pipes are larger for quicker turbocharger spool-up, and high horse power applications.

Our 2.75" Down Pipe is designed to work with any Cat Bypass pipe from stock to 3" and has the stock 10mm 3 stud arrangement.

Our 3" Down Pipe merges from 2.75" at the flange off of the turbocharger and transitions to 3" to make room for the 10mm (14mm head) nuts at the turbocharger and has 8mm studs on the triangle flange outlet to the cat bypass for use of 12mm head nuts to make room for a socket.

Our "True" 3" Down Pipe is available for GT turbochargers using a TiAL V-band type outlet and is a full 3" all the way from the turbocharger to a custom 3 bolt flange, and uses 8mm studs at the 3 bolt flange to make room for a 12mm head nut. The 3 bolt flange also has a wider configuration for the 3" pipe and will ONLY work with our "True" 3" Cat Bypass Pipe. This Down Pipe is $500 and comes polished only as shown below. This is a Custom Part.

And here is a picture of the LR 3" DP. It's obviously 2.75" at the turbo.

Fabspeed's upgraded downpipe is stated on the sight to be 2.75"

And the above is the "true" 3" SFR downpipe. They are the only company making true 3" downpipes for non GT turbos. Do they make their own custom 3" KKK flanges? Everyone else must be sourcing the 2.75" KKK flanges from elsewhere.
