Extreme wet grip - extreme dry grip = does not compute.

MPSS = max performance classification (per tirerack)

This one is a Ultra High Performance classification (per the above)

2 different classes = 2 different design goals

Actually, I was at the launch with larry and continental specifically designed this tire to compete with mpss. While the mpss offers better dry grip, this tire manages wet conditions better and it is much more predictable on breakaway in dry conditions than the mpss. I had more 'fun' with this tire than the mpss.

I have the predecessor (ExtremeContact DW) on my S6 and am extremely happy with them. Quiet, comfortable and predictable. Also two-thirds the price of MPSS.

I personally dislike continental tires. I have had very bad luck with them I guess on 3 different vehicles with blow outs and manufacturer side wall defects. They are also very noisy tires and the floorboard of your car feels like it's vibrating compared to other brands. I don't buy cars with them, that's how much I hate them. I'm sure things are better but I want nothing to do with them.

With all that being said, I've heard decent reviews on the newer ones. You guys will have to let me know what these are like. I won't be an early adopter.
