Default REMOVING side skirts...

So, I'm definitely repainting or wrapping my side skirt.

Anyone know offhand if the screws under the car are the only mechanical fasteners? It would be good to know in advance if I need to be looking for other fasteners or if there will only be molding tape to contend with once the screws running along the underside of the rockers are removed...

There will also be either a molding tape or lip that is attached to a metal clip on the top of your sideskirts. Should be one screw on each end in the wheel well area as well.

I'm not sure if my skirts were ever removed by the PO, but my skirts have an adhesive tape in addition to the screws.

If the skirts were installed at the factory, there would be a metal clip towards the top portion of the rockers that the sideskirts clip over. If it was a dealer installed option or PO installed it afterwards themselves, it could either have the clip or double sided tape.

I had to change one of them on my '02 and it was extremely easy. I doubt there is even a DIY on it. IIRC, there are about 6 screws and then some tabs to line up.

I just bought two used OEM side skirts. Of course, they didn't come with the factory hardware. Any advice how to install. I can see how to mount the ends of each side skirt to the fender's edge, but you all know, it has the a series of bolt holes. Do I drill out holes for screws or are they retaining clips to be mounted? Please help. I appreciate it!

I would get some 3m double sided autobody tape. Clean up the upper rocker portion of any wax/dirt.

Stick the tape along the top edge of the sideskirts.

DO NOT drill to mount sideskirts on the bottom side but instead get the proper plastic fasteners from Porsche which requires no drilling.

Install the bottom fasteners first. Then start peeling away the backing on the tape from the front side first. Slowly peel it away a little at a time while you're pressingi the sideskirt into place working towards the back.

Lastly, there is a screw in each wheel well IIRC.

Thanks Alpine! I really appreciate it! Do you by chance have a link to the proper Porsche fasteners? I'd rather just order it than driving down to Atlanta.

Sometimes I like it when the skirts stay on.

Other install threads I've seen recommend starting from the center and working out to each end.
